Thanks steve, but its not that urgent. Go figure, this crazy weather we've been having actually did it some good! It still needs some light tweaking, but its playable as it sits. Those gigantic saddles are worrying me about the action height though, any tips? I can really tell this bass has potential, and once i get everything on it squared away, im positive it'll be a tank

Its good plenty of scratches, but only a couple nicks. Adequate condition for a 30+ year old bass. Needless to say, Im a happy camper to have found a big brother for my foundation

Beautiful bass. If you still have high action with the saddles bottomed out, you may be able to get the action where you like it with a truss-rod and/or micro-tilt adjustment.

I'm guessing the volume pot is not original? I can't see the markings they are in the other side. But none on the back if the pot. When I bought it I didn't understand the "circuit" so now I'm not sure it's wired correctly. Anyone else have pics inside their 45?

Anyone have an idea where i can get the correct pot for the volume? and it looks like the ground that was attached to the bottom of the vol pot originally is now attached somewhere else? i just want to make sure it operates like its supposed to.

Back in the 90's I owned a Peavey G bass 5 string in graphite grey and like a dumbass I sold it. I've played Cirruses and Milleniums, and currently play Warwicks and Laklands, but have always wanted to find this bass again. Once in a while you see the 4 string single pick up designs come up but almost never the dual humbucker 5 strings. I would be open to negotiation on purchasing one, if anyone knows of someone willing to sell send them my way. Thanks for the help guys.

ordered a truss rod wrench off ebay yesterday (along with some chrome domes for my foundation), ought to be here in a week or so. Can't wait to get my fury set up! Oh and @ack/steve, I have a feeling it'll all fall into place one the neck is straight

The tone knob on my T-45 was high so I took it off to move it down and my pots have the split post that's kinda threaded like an axle shaft not the smooth shaft like my 79 is that correct?

I have a single pickup Forum that had been defretted when I got it. Who knows what readily available necks will just drop in to that pocket? It's the same pocket as any of those 90's USA basses it that helps.

Also, might any of you have suggestions for a good replacement preamp that would keep a nice warm pronounced bottom and direct drop-in heavy bridges?

Should be a solid shaft. If you can put the knob on where the screw tightens on the split in the shaft you'll have no problem. That's probably the way it was.

Keep an eye on ebay for a neck, i believe the fury, foundation, dyna, patriot, forum, and probably some others I'm forgetting have the same pocket. Honestly, you could pick up a foundation from music go round or GC Used, take the neck, stick the forum neck on, and sell it for some fiscal reclamation (or keep it, its a peavey after all ). As for a preamp, the single pickup forum is essentially a musicman copy, no? maybe a musicman 2 band preamp clone? Pics of the bridge would help, does it have 5 screws toward the ball end of the string (a la fender) or three, like other peaveys? Ive seen forums with both, but am not sure the fender-style was ever a stock option. That being said, there are no drop-in replacements i know of that retrofit onto a vintage peavey-style bridge.

So disappointed that beautiful blue T-20 was yanked off of ebay for some reason, only time I saw one with a black pickguard (I kinda hate the white one) and that awesome blue sparkle finish.

Necks don't pop up by themselves very often, especially with rosewood boards (which is what I want). A Foundation neck was in the classifieds for less than 48 hours a couple of months ago. I have thought about getting another Peavey to swap necks, but I'm trying to pair down (such blasphemy). And, I feel like I'd end up switching back and forth because they're all so good in their own right.

The bridge is a bent plate with five holes right by the bend.

It has kind of a Stingray vibe. I think its less trebly probably do to the pickup being in more of the G&L L1000 position. And, for preamps, I was thinking 3 band with cut and boost in a 3 knob configuration for around $100.
