Hey -Just bought my first Peavey from a Forum member: a white Fury! I've wanted one for a while and couldn't raise the $$, but I sold an amp a couple days ago so jumped on this one. It looks sweet in the pics: I've never been one for white basses, but this looks fantastic to my eye. Can't wait to get it!

I have a single pickup Forum that had been defretted when I got it. Who knows what readily available necks will just drop in to that pocket? It's the same pocket as any of those 90's USA basses it that helps.

Also, might any of you have suggestions for a good replacement preamp that would keep a nice warm pronounced bottom and direct drop-in heavy bridges?

I have a beautiful Maple/Rosewood neck from a '94 Forum P/J that I was going to use for a project. The back side has had the finish gently removed, and it is, without a doubt, the best neck I've ever played on. Smooth as silk.

I paid $50 for it. PM me if you are still looking for a replacement for yours -my projects have all screeched to a halt.

USA Peavey necks are totally great, you'll appreciate it more than if you'd gotten something else, I built a frankenbass to emulate the early Musicman basses, but used a sleek thin USA Peavey neck (this one from a B-Ninety) instead of that baseball bat the Musicman's typically have and its one of my top all-time basses (and I've played a lot!)

USA Peavey pulled some miracles, I dunno how they made necks so thin and fast while still able to hold tension on strings without bowing much at all!

Seriously I have a Patriot with a tiny little neck (the 'custom' one with the even narrower nut) that I have strung BEAD with the low 4 strings of a 5-string set and I can get the neck perfectly set up with the truss rod. I call witchcraft.

I just scored my 2nd MIA Peavey 5er - a Dyna 5 in addition to the Foundation 5 I already have...

I traded a MIM Active P Bass Deluxe and SX P clone in at the local GC to swing the deal - when it shows up next week, I'll post some pics and a quick review... If it plays and sounds as good as the Foundation 5, I'll be happy with the deal...

I'm sorry to say the Dyna 5 ended up being a bust... It looked nice, but the neck was fairly unstable, and the trussrod wouldn't flatten it out enough...

It also had a pretty good sized gap on either side of the neck pocket - which isn't an automatic DQer to me, since I'm a Fender fan, hahaha... Still, I wanted to like it, but had to return it - can't win 'em all...

Anyways, I'm still keeping the Foundation 5, since it's a real player - and one of the best sounding passive 5ers I've played, yet...

Seriously I have a Patriot with a tiny little neck

Neck on my Patriot is huge as baseball bat,but it's little bit narrow at the nut.

Edit: I mean,nut size is little,most of P-basses and basses I played have wider nut.

Two common (P Bass) nut sizes are 1.625", and 1.75" and it's my understanding that the Patriot was equipped with a 1.75" nut.

Hi Steve-

Yes, that's why I thought it might be worth starting a T45 Club just to smoke out how many there are exactly. When I started out on my "T-Series Collecting Oddysey", it took me 6 months to find a T45 that was:

(1) Affordable &
(2) Not beat to hell and back

The only model harder to find (using the same parameters) was my newest acquisition, a T20FL. That one took a year of combing the interwebz.

So I'm still thinking we should start up that T45 club, for no other reason than to get a "head count" on TB. A real bonus would be if we could find some of the rarer finishes.

If just ONE more T45 owner would agree to join (here on the U.S. Peavey Club), then I say let's go for it!
