Mmmm, probably have it tagged at more than I paid for it and more than I sold it to you for! I thought I didn't like the electronics in the Millennium, but I was wrong. I just had poor amplification at the time.

They make a great pair, don't they?

I believe the longer horn allows the bass to balance better, as the bodies are relatively lightweight and the necks, especially on the 35" scale basses are long.

The Cirrus BXP is excellent. The frets are perfect, the wood looks of good quality and the construction seems top notch. I believe the pickups are the same as the USA models, but the preamp is definitely bargain basement. Serviceable, but worthy of upgrading. The one I got had suffered a whack in the store, there is a good ding on the back side of the arm contour. Not visible and does not affect play at all. Because of that, I got the bass for $200 off! A buddy of mine who is going through some tough times and has all his gear in storage is borrowing it right now for a gig he is doing tonight, so I don't have it at the moment to show pictures. When I do get it back, I will most likely add a Hipshot D-tuner and look into upgrading the preamp.

Scott, did you get the straplock pieces and original strap buttons?

I visited "The Bassment" and read about your friends bad luck, lucky he's got a friend like you to help him out. Is that a mostly New England forum? Pretty cool. I might be back home this summer. I'd love to catch a gig.

I know what you mean. I always try to not let things like looks enter into my decision for an instrument but if something is turning me off about the looks I have to admit it does affect my decision. Can you find one in another colour that maybe doesn't scream "Prince" quite as loud? Maybe some stickers could cover it up a little? It's a pretty dark looking purple I definitely don't hate it.

I could wait for one in a different color, but this is a pretty darn good price - plus, I have a potential buyer for my current bass.

It is a dark purple - maybe even a Deep Purple :D

I feel your pain. I just had to wait well over a week just for my PayPal funds to clear and now I have to wait for my T-40 to make it's way from Florida(I think)to British Columbia, Canada. USPS says six to ten days for international priority - this is probably going to kill me.

The purple looks neat- dark and not too showy, but still has a color to it. My take, anyway. I generally like a darker fingerboard wood, unless it's Maple, but overall it's a sharp-looking bass. So based on looks, I'd say do it! If I had a spare 4-string to trade, I would...
