Thanks for posting this, I started looking at it a few days ago and couldn't get away from it. Such a cool looking bass in a color I don't think I've seen before. I bought it today, now I just have to wait on shipping! It'll be my first USA Peavy, Can't wait!

Well since getting my 92 Foundation almost 3 weeks ago, the honeymoon period is still in full swing & it's the only bass I want to play. I have gone through all 475 pages of this thread for information/history of the Foundation bass, & various other Peavey threads for anything related to the Foundation & there are a lot of nice Peavey basses out there.:D
I think I may have noticed that my bass may have a neck twist, looking down my neck I seem to have more fretboard on my G string side I have added 2 pictures to show & hopefully advise. It doesn't effect playing in any way but I would like to see if it's fixable thanks in advance.:help:
Secondly I would like to get some of the black speed knobs with the rubber grip I know prices are high for originals, are there any companies out there that do a reproduction of these? Defiantly got the Peavey bug & it's still giving me a buzz owning another USA made Peavey :cool:

I'd love to see how the bridge is set up could just be out of alignment? And it looks like the nut is cut a little bit that way too...

So yeah looks like the nut is cut a little out of center, no big deal really unless it effects your playing. The bridge saddles don't look to be adjustable so that is what it is. It may have been mounted a little out of center and sold as a second. I would need to see it in person to tell you for sure if there is some minor deviation in the neck. Again, as long as you can get the action right and it doesn't effect your playing don't worry about it...

The neck may need to be shifted a little in the pocket - that isn't uncommon with bolt on necks... Down all strings a step, loosen all neck bolts a turn, then move the neck to when the strings are best centered on it... Re-tighten the neck bolts, but don't over tighten them - then retune to pitch... This will also benefit by seating the neck into the pocket firmly - which is a good thing - but will affecty your setup(string heights and intonation)... Lastly, those basses typically have micro-tilt, which may or may not be tweaked for optimum playing action...

Also correct sorry wasn't thinking about the neck bolts,(my cirrus is a neck through). I wouldn't be surprised if the neck bolts are loose.

To add a little to @mesaplayer83 post.....leave the G string at pitch. This will help hold the neck in position while the screws are re-tightened. Also, if the neck doesn't want to move, the holes in the body may be too tight on the screws due to paint or buffing compound buildup. Clear them out with a 7/32" drill bit. The screws should move freely through the holes in the body.

Thank you Gentlemen for all the replies I took the neck off first to check for any date markings, was a little taken back it looks like the body & neck were butchered sometime during it's early years. There are some markings I cant make out but it looks like 1374 has been stamped in the neck. Anyhow put it back together after moving the neck a little it is better than before, but it looks like it will need a professional Luthier to see it. But for now it plays fine & I'm still chuffed with my Foundation bass, any ideas what the numbers mean in the pictures?

songwriter21....I checked the archives and believe it or not you have two numbers already. You must have been here early on because the first is #116 and the second I gave you some time ago #364 and I must not have checked the list when I gave it to you. So you can use either one at this point.
