That's actually an RSB...... Rudy Sarzo Bass. It was the second model Rudy did with Peavey. Active VFLs, passive controls, 24 fret bolt on. Good bass. The Signature (on the peghead) model was the first and was 24 fret neck through with passive humbuckers and preamp. The Signature was more expensive to build and IMHO, a better bass. Not many RSBs were made.

I don't remember the knobs on my Forum having a detent. I alao realized when I replaced the pickup (first with a Chi-Sonic humbucker the with a Rudy Sarzo humbucker, both wired passive, both not what I was hoping for) that one of the wires from the preamp to the bass knob was broken. It still acted as a bass cut/boost, but it also affected the volume. Even with the volume all the up, boosting the bass also increased volume. If the bass knob wasn't all the way up, the volume was only about 60% of what it could put out.

Of course, that wasn't really a problem because, like Stingrays, I like the tone best when the bass is all the way up and the treble is cut quite a bit.

This has been my beauty for about five years. 92-93 MIA Dyna-Bass drool Unfortunately I have it listed in classifieds at the moment because I'm leaning more towards p-basses these days. BUT I did find a sweet Peavey Fury on Reverb this morning that I might try to trade for. Can't go wrong with a classic MIA Peavey! :bassist:

I had an RSB Koa, got it for $200.
Koa body which I thought looked great, 2 VFL pickups, passive like Mech said.
And a nice neck ..like all Peaveys.
Didn't really care for the sound of the bass, it was just okay.

It may be a bit older than that. That one is exactly like mine and mine is an '87. I'm not sure when the next "iteration" of the Dyna came along. Maybe someone with some more knowledge about that can chime in.

Yeah I was going to say the same thing, likely not a 92/93, but it could be a 1991, my 91 fury has the pinstripe and script headstock like that, 92/93 has the rounded shape.

Ignore my thumbnails unless you want to see some pics of the beater damage on the classic pro Thunderbird that just exhausted my foundy funds. I accidentally started the post in the wrong thread, cut and pasted, and didn't want to risk killing the pictures by "deleting".

Did you excercise the pots lock to lock several times. This may help clean them without having to pull the board. Note that the stacked mid control on the Millennium pre is on a separate board connected by a flat cable. You may be able to pull the main board enough to get to the mid control without removing it.

I think there is a way to clean pots from the front, they make a thread on fitting with a hose and you squirt contact cleaner through the hose and it cleans the pots from the front, the contact cleaner seeps through around the shaft.
