U.S. Peavey Club

I know you guys will say, "Oh, yeah right" or whatever, but I think that my Peaveys have ended my G.A.S. :wideyed: Reason I say this, is that I'm finally not interested in looking at the classifieds. The only other time that this has happened, was also from Peavey...two G-V's. Unfortunately, one bass developed a crazy in-and-out crackle that could not be remedied (I was convinced it was demonic, very long story), and the other was stolen at a NYE gig...yes, I still weep from time to time about that!

The only thing that interests me now, are other Peaveys. I think I'm good for now, though.;)

Some pots you have to pull up on the shaft and use the tube to squirt in under the little gap that appears when you pull up on it.

Wish I knew which box in storage my D5 was. Jazz bass, foundation, furies all need some of that magic elixer.

Oh, my - my Foundation 5 is one of two "keepers" from probably close to a dozen USA Peaveys I've bought -and stacks up favorably against my Schecter Hellraiser 5 and EBMM Sterling 4 HS... If I could grab another Foundation 5 for $100 or less, I would even though another bass is the last thing I need...

My mid 90's USA black on maple Foundation 5 was under $100....but, the bridge was off center.

Spent many hours getting it plugged, redrilled and setup right.....its killer with the VFL's....seriously good.

There was virtually NO wear on the bass except for a huge belt buckle rash on the back LOL!!

I am smack dab in the middle of Peavey USA country......honestly, i rarely see Peavey stuff for sale in pawns except for guitar amps....i recently literally STOLE a yellow Peavey Tracer guitar w Kahler Floyd Rose, it has German Schaller pickups and is from the late 80's.....excellent guitar...only thing ive seen in nearly a year....wonder if local folks are getting wind of collectibility of the USA stuff or they just dont bring enough to resell or pawn?

The price is certainly right but with the Axcelerator 5, TL-5, Zephyr 5 and my T-40-5 the last thing I need is 2 Foundation 5's. If I bought it I'd be denying somebody else the Peavey pleasure,I'd also hope Peavey number 50 was something special :)

I understand - with a collection like yours, no duplicates are necessary... As a player, having a 2nd Foundation 5 on the cheap wouldn't hurt my feelings any, though...

Ya know what I love about my Millenium? Zero neck dive. My Cirrus dives, though, but I don't care, because it sounds and plays sooooooo good. I just use a strap with the Cirrus, and it's all of around 9lbs, so no big deal.

Anyway, you guys think that the Millenium balances better, because of the horn reaching the 12th fret? The Cirrus goes to the 14th. Check out the pic I posted a few days ago with these basses.

It's a bit of a quandry. Far as I can tell it's variations within models I'd need to start looking for. Can't say I'm awfy struck looking for say a Forum Ax when I've both a Forum and an Axcelerator. Same goes for the Cyberbass, the midibase but in an Axcelerator body :meh:

I did fancy the Axcelerator 2-Tek as I'd liked to have tried both the 2-Tek bridge and a 4 string Ax. MGR has one but rosewood boards/CITES puts a big spanner in the works :crying:

Might change tack. There's a Peavey Aberdeen acoustic bass somewhere in the UK, lost track of its whereabouts late last year.
