Hey fellas. Thanks to @Runnerman asking about Foundation 5'ers with SF's,it's dawned on me I don't have one

Same SF for both 4 and 5's? or did they have to stretch it?
I've got three SF basses. Two are foundations, a four with the "Super Ferrite" embossed pickups, and a newer five where they just say "peavey" on them in the lower right corner. My first gen TL5 has two embossed with super ferrite, but its bridge pickup is one of the rarer humbucking super ferrite pickups. I do like these pickups.
Peavey are well known for using the same parts for 4 and 5 strings so I'm guessing they'd be the same.Same SF for both 4 and 5's? or did they have to stretch it?
The pickups on my midibase and TL-5 are the same size, Grind 4 & Zephyr 5 the same and the same on the VFL Foundation 5 and VFL Foundation 4.
My Foundation 5 has an excellent B string - every bit as good as the one on my EBMM Sterling 5 HS... I typically string it with EXL-170s, which give me good tension and clear notes all the way down to open B...
I did end up changing out the bridge to one of these:
Fender Bass Bridge for Deluxe Active Jazz/J Bass 5 String, Mexico
This is a better bridge than the original, IMO - and gave me the same string spacing as on my other 5ers(17.5mm)
So that USA Forum bass (the bright blue one) that I bought recently has a knob that didn't seem to function. Curious.
So, I took it to my luthier, who told me yesterday that all of the active electronics had been pulled out of the bass and it had been converted to a passive setup. So, my high/low EQ is gone and in its place is a tone knob and a knob that does nothing. Still sounds fine, but...not quite what I ordered.
I guess this is something to expect buying from Reverb sight unseen. Now I can say I have a Peavey P-Bass with a soapbar instead of the usual pickups I guess?

Did you pay by card ? and was it a store ? You'll be covered by the card as the seller neglected to say the bass had been altered. It's an Axcelerator preamp in the Forum so good chance Peavey still have spares.
I'd be telling the seller they owe for the replacement.

This is on Reverb's site re: items which are not as described. They may be of real help here:
"How am I protected if I do not receive an item or the item I receive is not as described?"

I bought a stingray once with a yellowed pickguard but from the pics he decided to add a Instagram filter to whiten it and deepen the colour
all I got was a few hundred back
Yeah, I've already started a case with them and sent a message to the seller. I just don't want to be out shipping charges for something that wasn't my fault. We'll see how it goes.

Sometimes it takes a while.Took me 32 years before I found a specific Japanese bass,still only know of 4 folk that own one. Start searching for old posts then contact anybody who had one. If they sold ask if they remember who they sold to.
