This may not be relevant, but I've swapped out a bad '94 P/J Forum neck (someone's failed attempted at defretting) with a good '93 Fury neck, and they were perfect mates.
Added DiMarzio pickups and it's a beautiful mutt.

Patriot, Foundation, Dyna and 2nd model Fury are all basically the same and interchangeable. Some are a little thicker/thinner feeling than others

From memory. I've had T-40 necks on both Foundations and Patriots. The Foundation body has also wore a Millennium BXP neck, as does one of my Zodiac DE Scorpios.

The neck I got from you is on the Forum - it's a great neck. That de-fretted one I referenced is still upstairs - I'd like to get to fixing it someday.
If I remember correctly, I think I traded you a defretted '95 Fury neck. Hope it hass worked out OK for you, and hope you are well.
I traded a home-defretted Forum neck (P width single humbucker version) for a fretted Forum neck (skinny like a Fury off a PJ version). I think you said you had it laying around for a project you weren't sure you'd ever get to finish.

Yes, you are 100% correct. My brain is foggy - too many unfinished projects.
Yeah, I liked that neck and I did use 0000 steel wool on it - just enough to knock off any stickiness. They end up so smooth.
Glad to hear you're still doing projects. If you get a chance, post a pic or two of the double-P Fury.
I have used various grades of fine sandpaper and finished with 0000 steel wool....i own several Peavey guitars and basses, all USA models, the best overall "neck feel" in my 89 Fury with a RW board......this neck has edges that are rolled almost perfectly as opposed to my 85 Foundation which has an all maple 2 piece neck.
Were the RW board versions more "rolled" on the edges from the factory?
All of my other Peavey guitars and basses are all maple necks....all are outstanding once adjusted but the 89 Fury RW board feels like an old Fender J bass....its that good!

The front pickup is the original Fury, and the bridge is an Entwistle PBXN. I have it wired with stacked VT for each. I used a heat gun to remove the poly finish and stained with Reranch purple dye. It didn't take well where the glue from the veneers or body core pieces were glued together, but I liked the natural relic look it has. I finished it with a couple thick coats of TruOil, and then I used steel wool to take the shine off. I preferred the flat look. I made the pickguard out of crafting wood from Hobby Lobby and stained it with leather dye. It took me over a year to complete it because I acquired all the parts slowly, and I was in grad school at the time. Super happy with how it turned out.

I am trying to put together a competing tribute, I got fired from.mine willingly (I could.have lied/omitted and stayed), and it may or.may not work out. The old BL has the name and the Facebook/IG pages and bookings, one of which was my booking.
So yeah, drinking booze I had on hand was In order. And I put a coat of mineral oil on the foundation. The nexk might need a scotch brite treatment, since the finish is starting to wear and my alcohol wipe made it sticky.
This is a great bass. Maybe I will call peavey to find out if it is original or "parts".
I need to find the right band to rock this proudly, and that can be just about anything. This is a classy bass that can also rock. It just won't work in a SOAD tribute. After I sell my goth Thunderbird making my. Classic pro Thunderbird the one and only, my 93 fury strung 110 85 65 50 might be backup now that my OLP is strung 128 105 80 65 for bead (I could change it to 128 80 65 45 for drop c if needed, but.that is floppy on the 80)
Cant justify 2 birds one being bolt on, after being let go from soad tribute and buying the foundy with no upcoming paid gigs any more

I had a 93 Foundation, here it is next to the 84 that replaced it. The main difference is in the lower bout width.The '92 Foundation bass I bought back in July has become my main player, but I really like the look of the 83-90 version of this bass. I have read that the body of the later ones are smaller, but by how much. So does anyone have a drawing of both bodies showing the size difference. Thanks in advance

How does the Fury pickup cope with the Entwistle PBXN ? A friend was round on Saturday,he's interested in a Zodiac DE. We ran my stock DE and the Entwistle enhanced one through different channels on the mixer,the Duncans are so tame I had to turn the channel to the max for even volume.
Since one of my Furys is so beat up it's pointless to think about selling I thought of scrapping a double Entwistle PBXN Foundation and just use the Fury. The fear is the Fury pickup will get over-powered.
Course sticking 2 PBXN in would be the answer

Not sure if anyone noticed in the pics, but my foundation ser# ends with 666 \m/ . 666 to me does not have "devil" connections, for I know where the origins of the christian devil were twisted from. But I do think it is funny, cool etc...
