That is a bargain. I bought one off Reverb recently that was listed at $1000 and when the seller reduced it to $700 I could not resist. Mine also came with the hard case. It is a lovely bass and this one looks to be very nice indeed.

Hipshot ultralites as well, from the look of it. May be an aftermarket pre, based on the switch near the knobs. A little bit of a gamble, but a great price!
I was thinking its a different preamp. Looks like there is a switch added there. Maybe active/passive?

Could be. Could also be a mid frequency switch. All depends on the pre. It's definitely not stock.
No idea why I do these things but Cirrus #5 arrived from Germany yesterday. This 2006 Bubinga bolt on now makes it official.
Everybody Cirrus USA owner I know of in Europe owns a supposedly "rare" bolt on model !!

ok, Peavey posse: i’ve got some questions about my new Dyna Bass.
1. There appear to be neck stamps under the finish on the back of the headstock, as well as screenprinted
on top. hard to capture in photos but i’ve tried. ever seen anything like this?
B. there’s no serial number apparent on the body, but there’s one printed on the board. is that the serial number for the bass? it’s 98XXXXXXA, which at least looks like a Peavey serial ...

yes, but what i can make out is just the same patent and trademark jazz. sorry, i should have been more clear about that
Would be easier if they colour the stamp but only 3 of mine have that. Could get a rough date going by the hardware, There's 2 or 3 different gens of Dyna bass.
it looks exactly like this one in nearly every respect, down to the missing serial number stamp

Mine is the same. From 89, the serial number was painted on below the patents.

You could try a pencil rubbing to see if you could make out the serial number, worth a try anyway.
