Koa family unity can warp at times
The pickups and preamp were crazy good
Is not the right bass of some one is intro jbases or pbasses
The action can be filed down to compensate for the neck not having offset
I don't have one anymore... Everything i own has a b string the colors didn't work well with Americana.. Churches and private parties.
Are you saying the necks are prone to warping on the neck thru Peaveys of that era?
The one I am eyeing has had the preamp removed but still has the active pickups.

2 Koa Peaveys here and zero issues. Also intrigued by @MNAirHead 's previous post regarding 1mm action I dropped the saddles to the plate then sunk the bridge pickup far as it goes. Jacking up the grub screws I'm reading 0.75mm at 17th fret.
No saddles were filed during the making of this film
Actually the 1mm action was easy on the RJ-IV. The down side is all the exposed grubscrew sticking out the saddles. Another thing is, I imagine you need a light touch with the right hand.

1mm Acton... With the right tension strings.. It's possible (after filling).. ....i don't keep them if they can't be this low
The rj preamp was spectacular ......they were often removed as users didn't know the "personality' could be changed

Same as I didn't need to shim either of my Millenniums I didn't need to file the RJ-IV saddles.
I just bought this one. Body has been stained and neck is tung oil finished. Wired for volume only. Looks like the refinish was done well. One of the reasons I had not jumped on a RJ-IV before was the painted neck. I prefer tung oil and didn’t want to buy one only to sand the neck, and make it look horrible.
Well......it finally happened.......I cracked the battery cover on my TL-Five. You know, right where it snaps on at the back end. Did anyone ever discover if there is a replacement battery box out there?? I'm headed off to the gig and it will survive but I will probably pull it apart and super glue it back together early next week. Just wondered about the replacement boxes? Thanks y'all.
Yes, it looks like the top layer of carbon fiber that says Peavey BQuad was torn off

That's a fine deal on a Dyna. I recently joined the Dyna club and love it, it's a Foundation with more tones, which is a great thing. Mine is the polar opposite of that one, it's all black, hardware and headstock included. My friends and I jokingly refer to white/gold as basses as "Prince" or "church" basses, and all black basses for "goth" or "hellions."

I have become a fan of white and faded white basses, but never have liked gold hardware on any color.
I refer to cars, guitars and people with lots of gold as Gucci.
Cars and guitars with lots of black as Blackout or Stealth Bomber.
Cars, boats and music gear with big metal-flake paint jobs as Pimpy or Pimpalicious.
And my green metal-flake G Bass as Mo' Money Green.

I wanted to show U S Peavey Club folks first before posting in Basses since you'll appreciate it more than the general membership. You're 
I picked up a Foundation body with black crackle, red veins and clear coat last week. Just got it finished and set up with BEAD strings. Super Ferrites, of course, that are wired series with a single coil tap like the T-40 (middle knob). Volume and Tone with a .047uF cap. Thought about a preamp but it doesn't need it at all. I had the Badass II gold bridge and neck. The neck is a good Korean import with the topnut width at 1.5". It's thicker and has a round profile unlike the normal Foundation. Wheel at the heel TR adjustment and I had modified it years ago for a stealth bass which is neckless now. Needless to say it sounds like it ought too and is a real player. Being able to blend in some neck PU in series really beefs up the fundamental but it's not overbearing since the amount of neck pickup in series is controlled. There is still more than enough highs. Action is set at 4/64" at the 12th and neck relief is about .007". It's not a light weight. Estimate weight at over 9 lbs.
May go with black hardware and Foundation neck with the back painted semi-gloss black later but the gold is growing on me. Brings to mind Gollum, the One Ring and lava in Mount Doom.
Needless to say neither my camera nor photography skills do the paint justice. Definitely a stunner in good light.
