U.S. Peavey Club

while not the killer deal of the Dyna this '90s Foundation is in my sights for $125 locally (includes a BEHRINGER XENYX 502 5-input mixer, and gig bag) claiming to be clean and set up nicely. should it hang around til the morning I'll be after it, but am curious how these perform with flats or taped strings, and what VFLS haters don't like about them? anything I'm overlooking on this black n maple beauty?

I have a 5-string one of these in white that I *love*. It’s wearing TI jazz flats which fit it to a T. Those are nice sounding pickups, round and warm at the neck, punchy at the bridge and interesting blends in between. The action on mine is ridiculously low and it’s very comfortable to play, mid-weight with a slightly chunky neck. That’s a terrific buy!

Hey, I have a real thing for super ferrite pickups. That, and this one was dirt cheap. I do need to slow down though. Yesterday I got that Grind 5 from eBay with the Lace Alumitones and Delano preamp in it. Today, Megabass head number three.... Earlier this week, Transfex Pro 212S combo from a guy in Gainesville....

That Dyna was a score! I got my black 85 for $275 and felt like that was a joke of a price for a bass of that caliber.
I, too have a real thing for Super Ferrites and love my SF basses.
Matter of a fact, just got done Forstnering and routing out the Patriot for a neck position Super Ferrite. I'm off to shield the thing and get it wired up!

It's a bit of a combo. The VFLs are active so need battery power, tone pots are passive. Been a while since I played mine but I don't recall the sound being earthbreaking.

Shame you missed the Foundation. That was approaching UK prices,one in red sold couple weeks back for £64 ($84) inc the Peavey case. The neck on my 5'er feels almost asymetric after all the play,cost me £50 ($65) but I felt guilty after playing it so sent the guy another £25 :thumbsup:

that's pretty cool of you! it's insane how cheap the US Peaveys can go for, I've become a huge Peavey fan like you, and while it was an irresistible impulse buy I got over the loss as soon as I grabbed my Zodiac BXP lol that sucker is just great. fortunately the Foundation and Furys can be had all day so no tears, but I kinda wanted the little Behringer mixer too, oh well, I'm s'posed to be saving $$ for priorities anyway. maybe bass God was watching over me and the lucky buyer for our better good.
