Unity's have the neck-through construction.....is that the difference?

Yes Unity's are neck through construction. And I think you're correct the same otherwise.

I stand by using metric. 3mm hex key dropped in nicely,couldn't get a 3/32" to fit properly.It only went a few mm,chances of it slipping are too high for my liking.

I have one of the little 1/8" rods as supplied by Peavey. It works fine but in the past I have used hex keys and phillips screwdrivers and they worked for me.
Eyesight is terrible tonight
Key I found too tight was 1/8th (3.175mm).Perhaps the hole and Peavey tool have a slight taper allowing it to slip in deeper.

I just measured the Peavey supplied tool with a micrometer and it measures .1265" and it easily fits to the bottom of the hole in the Millennium and Fury V. My 1/8" hex key measures .126" across the flats and .139" point to point and will not go in the hole in the truss rod nut.
I've always really liked the knobs that came on my 86 Foundation S. You know the ones, the black speed knobs with the rubber grip. Pretty much impossible to find originals except for crazy money - 15.00 a knob! Anyway I stumbled across some that are real close on Amazon last week for $8 and change for 4. I got them in yesterday and I didn't get to compare them to the originals but they aren't bad for the money if you have a bass that is missing the originals. Here is a picture. You can see the shape is a little different and the grip is as well but they are pretty close. I'm going to take another photo with the two side by side for comparison later if anyone is interested.

It's just one of those things that bugs me, when I see a Foundation of the era, for instance, that has had the knobs replaced - usually with Fender Style chrome domes. And even if you wanted to change the domes that come on the later ones - these will work.

Hey so what's the story on the later Foundation 2000, The B-Ninety and the Axcellerator's. Are there US and Import Versions of these? The Foundation 2000 looks passive but aren't all VFL's Active?

Foundation 2000 was a USA assembled passive bass with single coil PUP's with a VFL style cover. It also had the Millennium shaped body. Probably had a lot of outsourced components.....the last Foundations to be made, but very different from the foundations that preceded it. Much more similar to the imported Fury and Milestones that followed.
The B-90 was I think also the last of the "inexpensive" USA assembled basses. The had very cheap and likely mostly imported components. Peavey's last hurrah at the low end market with a "USA" bass. Not too highly regarded around here, possibly a nice modding platform.
The Axcellerators were a very good USA made base that came in passive and active versions. Unique body shape with an elongated upper horn. Early 1990's. Highly regarded around here. Also came in 5 string versions and fretless I believe.

The Axcellerator also came in 6 string and was a great bass. It was 35" scale and played and sounded very good.

, I mean TinIndian's sentiment. I had no idea that the Axcelerator was available in a passive mode. I love my Axcelerator. USA made (I believe they all are) and bolt on. Two band active EQ. VFL's like the Cirrus. It's the closest thing to a Cirrus / Fender Deluxe hybrid. Killer tone, Awesome Peavey THIN, not narrow neck. Mine was NOS, so it was spotless and had the hang tag still on it ! Case was spotless, too. It's on my never sell list.

Apart from the $295 - $325 Patriot,the Fury was always the budget US Peavey. RRP on the B-90 was $499, passive PJ Forum was $499. Fury was only $399 RRP.
The Millennium body shape first appeared on the G-bass in 97.
Never heard of any passive Axcelerators. 4,5 & 6 strings yes,fretless yes,2-Tek bridge yes. All of those were active.
There was a passive US Millennium,4 string PJ with a 34" scale length. Could you be thinking of that ?

That's pretty much where I'm at, too. Peavey gets a little foggy for me after 1995.
Those 80s Peaveys are my favorite!
I think it was more of an "off the top of my head" mistake. I guess I was thinking of the later Forums....that would be a passive version of the similar body style right?...but 1 pickup. Thanks for your correction....always appreciate your knowledge and input.
