Anyone know where I can find a split coil fury?
So I spent this morning taking the preamp out of the Milli again, and taking both the blend and treble pots out of the Cirrus board and re-soldering them onto the Milli board. I put everything back together, put Cirrus knobs on it to lighten it an ounce, cleaned the fretboard, conditioned the wood, cleaned the body, new strings and set up.
This Millennium was Neglected big time. It was dirty, dingey, electronics were broken, battery leads were a rats nest, knobs were GLUED on. I had to pull them off with pliers like teeth, and the strap buttons are glued on. I can't get them off yet to put on Dunlop strap locks. I might need to take it to a shop so he can drill it out. I put a lot of work into it and now the wiring is nice and neat, and the battery leads look perfect. Someone with OCD would be pleased.
Now, I have a PROPER $800 Peavey Millennium USA. Low action, perfection.

Happy you were able to resurrect that bass. I'd follow up with the seller and see if they could do a partial refund for the time and energy you put into that bass. It definitely should have been put in the description.
I promised photos of the Fury V so I will post some below. I had time to clean and polish the bass, install new strings and do a set up on it. It plays well and sounds very good. This is a very nice bass for a small price. The color is emerald green translucent and extremely difficult to photograph. My little Canon pocket camera does only so so in good light. I shot the last two photos in front of my garage door and they most accurately show the color.
Nice, Chuck ! I had no idea the Fury had gone through such a metamorphosis. That top is insane !
Also, I am loving the Millennium. It is a sweet bass. Fast neck and that preamp is PERFECT for this bass. Boost the mids and get that real talky, biting growl. I've never really like the Milli in the past maybe because I always got the all maple neck. Not sure. This one seems smaller, too. It sure is a beast, though.

Does anyone know what kind of tool to use to adjust the truss wheel, or whatever you call it on the Millennium ? I tried using a screwdriver, but it just bent.

Brass will bend, you need steel.
Allen wrenches will workn but will leave little marks where the hex corners bite in.
I want to take tension off the neck a SMIDGEON but it's tight. I tried two small allen wrenches together and they too bent.
I've successfully used quality hardened hex tools... the cheapo screwdrivers etc bend... so do nails

It seems to me that this design works best when I do the following...
My opinion is that these are most successful when setup (straight neck + tilt shim + bridge height) ... give them a day to rest... verify the neck is straight and the geometry is correct.
Periodically, there are frets that need a slight adjustment (I now send these out).
