It's active, I believe. Otherwise GREAT basses. I love the Grinds WAY more than the Cirrus BXP's.

They are probably the best sounding FL I've ever heard. A pair of Foundations for $180 bucks - I gotta shop where you shop !
SO I spent the last few hours working on the Milli. I took photo all the way to make a photo album of the process for anyone who wants to see it. I had a spare Milli pre, and I ran out of Cirrus pre's (Darn !!!) and I had a Gbass pre sitting, too.
I wanted to use a Cirrus pre in the Milli because I really like the bandwidth of the EQ. So I modded the Gbass pre by taking the blend pot from the damaged milli pre and soldering it onto the Gboard.
I did everything perfectly. Plugged it in then realized why I had an extra Gboard ; It has internal damage to the pots. The volume doesn't work until it's full on. I can live with that. Then, the other pots are very scratchy, more than usual. Peavey uses self-cleaning pots, so you should be able to just turn them over and over until the scratchiness goes away. But, it's not, so hopefully some cleaning spray will help.
The neck on the Milli is great, but right now I've been playing NOTHING but my Peavey Foundation S. That bass is SOOOOooo amazing !! It gets the Hemispheres tone almost exact.

I didn't know that the Grind was such a sleeper of a bass. I will have to keep my eyes posted for one locally. Just saw a 6 string locally that went for pennies.
Some of you may remember that I purchased some chrome control knobs off Ebay that were pictured as solid metal for a 1/4" solid pot shaft and fitted with a set screw. The knobs I received have a very large hole and a plastic insert which adapts the knobs to fit a 1/4" split shaft. The knobs I received are push on and the set screw only secures the plastic insert.
I spent a lot of time asking to return for a refund and the seller kept asking for more info...photos...made an offer of a $2 refund which I refused and finally offered a $5 refund and all this after I told him that the knobs are of no use to me.
So I contacted Ebay and within hours I had a complete refund. I left the seller the negative feedback he had gone to so much trouble to earn. All this for a $14 purchase.
So Ebay came through for me and I bought the correct knobs from another seller I have done business with in the past.

I paid $100 for it and a Peavey Backstage Plus guitar amp. I gave the amp to a kid learning to play guitar and after cleaning, adjusting and new strings on the Fury I am the proud owner of the very best playing and sounding passive P/J bass that has ever been in my hands.
I watch Marketplace all the time and occasionally a good deal can be found.
I think I hate you, Chucky. I LOVE P/J's now since I'm on my Foundation S trip.
If I have my info correct, the Forum I have was only made for 2 years so they are quite rare. The single Humbucker/active Forum IV replaced the passive P/J. I was really lucky to score one and for it to be in nearly new condition after I cleaned it up. I have owned 2 of Fender's Hot Rod Precisions and they were really nice basses but this little Peavey sounds way better. I have no idea who made the PUs but they sound fantastic.

Took my G Bass to rehearsal today. That, my 400RBII and Hartke HyDrive 112. Great combination. Ton of fun playing that bass!
A Fury P/J is a new one on me Chuck. What's the year,was it before the Forum P/J ?

Not crazy about the pickguards but those are killer basses and I love the color of the charcol one. The Wal electronics are very intriguing.
I don't know for sure. As a matter of fact, I think it was the other way around later. I think the USA later Cirrus models used the same VFL's as the BXP's. I don't remember if there was a tonal difference, or if it was psychological, but I do know that the Indo Cirrus's use import preamps and I hate them. A "Cirrus" is a USA bass. All others are just using the name. My opinion.
So they do have a different import preamp too. That is interesting.
