U.S. Peavey Club

An upgrade i like to recommend for those bridges is to swap the existing pot metal saddles for the brass ones off a Wilkinson bridge. The spacing is exactly the same and you can get the bridges complete domestically for under $20, or the saddles alone from overseas for 10 and change, both on ebay. I did this on my patriot and it definitely cleaned up the highs in the signal to my ears.

Thanks, I appreciate the info.

Just lucked into this beauty which turned out to be only a short bus ride away (for the bass, not for me). I had been admiring one very much like this in the classifieds here and then (boom) I found this one in the province next door. Fancy maple top on walnut, purple heart stringers in the neck and very purty maple neck and fingerboard. This one also has upgraded Hipshot tuners with a drop-D and an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp with a selectable mid-range frequency push-pull. It sounds every bit as good as it looks—and it's the prettiest Cirrus I've seen.:)

That really is a beauty! Congrats! Sounds like it was meant to be...

Hi all. Quick question if you don’t mind. Do any Peavey preamps, other than the Dyna Bass, fit in a Sarzo without any mods? Thanks.
You could use an Indonesian Cirrus preamp ( I believe ) because unlike the USA Cirrus, it has the circuits attached to each pot instead of a giant one piece. That's if you are set on Peavey.
Otherwise, I'd go with Bartolini NTMB or Aguilar ODB or something like that. There's a whole mess of preamps you could use. Just depends on your budget. I'm pretty sure you could call Peavey and order an "Indonesian" Cirrus preamp for around $70 bucks.

Appreciate the help. I’m looking at all my options right now and was just wondering which way to go.

+1 what Bleecker said !!!!
Also, I LOVE the rubber knobs. I know I'm in the minority, but the Peavey rubber knobs are my all time favorite knobs. So comfy and lightweight.
It looks like the same bass that was just sold by OldSchool50 !!

Yes it does! I was salivating over that one, but was outside the CONUS—then this one popped up. I'm quite interested in the history of these since they appear more or less identical.

Very nice!

Just picked up a ‘93 Forum Plus in Emerald Green. Man this thing is a beauty!

Nice! I have a green '94 Forum Plus. I really love it.

I need another pj like i need a hole in the head, but man those forums sure do seem nice...
They certainly are. It exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a Foundation S and happened across the Forum Plus for $169 shipped. Since it was cheap and green, I had to get it. After a major rewire, Wilde pickups, a black pickguard and metal P knobs, it was a killer.
...oh, and a thumb rest, too. I had one laying around.

Does Forum Plus just mean it has the active pickups? Or was it better wood, etc...?
Active pickups and a high mass bridge. The non-Plus Forums have the lighter bridge as found on the early 90s Furys and Foundations.
