Uber 410 = Uber Bad *ss

OK Initial thoguhts on the UB410

HOLY CRAP!

I LOVE the 212 but hot damn!

This may be it for me. Wow. I don't remember it sounding like this at NAMM (horrible place to truly hear things).

He is a quick comparison.

I hear the 212 as slightly deeper and smoother than the UB410.
The UB410, to me, is a bit punchier and this thing is angry! It practically snarls at you but in a good way. It is definitely more aggressive sounding than the 212.

I kept a/bing them and loved both. Hard to pick yet but right now the edge goes to the UB410.

I was talking to Drew and I told him it was similar to the differences between a PJ5 and a JJ5.

They are both tight and punchy but the PJ5 (212) is a bit warmer and rounder while the Jazz bass is growloer and more aggressive (UB410).

So far, I love this thing.

BTW, I am waiting on my Nordy's so am borrowing a friends MIM jazz 5 :rollno: Not my first choice but I couldn't put it down.

The mids are great and I didn't adjust my eq fromt he settings for the 212. Great low mids and puuuuunchy!

I feel like I am rambling.

Dennis said the best 410 he has ever heard. I agree!

He also said it was like a Eden XST and XLT combined. The best of both of them. Well, I would agree but even if Eden did that they'd fall way short of this cab. This cab is sick!!!!!

Out for dinner and back to play this some more.

one thing Mike- If you feel that the NeoX-212 has more bottom....cool. But as you A/B, realize that the different cabs will open up at different distances.

So, don't just stand at say ....15 feet away for both cabs as you compare. Rather, look for the sweet spot in each cab.

oh I couldn't agree more. this was just my inital thoughts. I will need a lot more time before I can really form an opinion. I do love the aggressive nature of the UB410.

lol...I haven't, at least not yet. I am checking county code to see which day I do it.

that's what we did for Randy Jackson when he was at our shop. We laid the Neox on its side and put the 4x10 on top ...running it with a GBE1200.

He was running through three of these rigs in our shop ....playing with my Lakland. We really cranked that thing.

I asked Dennis on the phone the other day about trying the 212 on it's side with the Uber on top. Given how big the 212 is when you lay it down, it would make for a massive bottom end, and then allow the Uber to supply more punch and ballz. I bet that would be a slammin' setup.

You guys are insane. In a good, but scary way.

:D

Cheers

I guess thats why Dennis isn't answering my e-mails, he's probably putting this rig together to shoot a you tube to post this afternoon..... or he already did it and got arrested by the volume police, LOL!!!

haha. Yeah, it's a far cry from the ultra light/small focus you've had for the last few years. I guess you don't have to go build your own stuff anymore now that you've got the little Shuttle 3.0 combo, eh?

Yep, it's very different. And no, I don't need to build anything now ... the 3.0-10t is perfect for the ultralight use.

I do have some loud gigs on the horizon ... may have to revisit some stuff. On the other hand, the GBE600 on top of the Neox212t and Neox112t is probably plenty.

Cheers

lol... I'll am up to my butt in tomorrows gig (because of course he changed the material he wants to do tomorrow at the Ram's Head and sent an email to us all at 1 Oclock). Hence I have been trying to learn tunes and not creating artful stacks of cabinets, which bye the way hurts me. I love a cabinet challenge. On the light lighter side, dual 112's on the floor driven by the 6.0 with dual neoX212's on top being driven by the 1200 is just stupid sounding.

Not that I did that.

That should energize some brain cells...if you were to do it...or is that 'annihilate some brain cells'?
