Mike, you going to be gigging it in Nashville anytime soon? I'd love to come hear it.
Cheers

Been playing through the UB410 most of the day. I really like this cab!
I scanned through the thread and didn't see this, so If I missed it...sorry...but:
Has anyone A/B'd the Uber410 against the 410XB2?
I would really be interested in this...thanks...
Well I must say...you accomplished the goal.
I'm not a fan of upper mids beyond what is needed for articulation. Neo speakers seem to have a inherent high-mids.
When we designed the Uber, our intent was to address the high-mids. Two of the ways we did this was by changes in the speaker and also the cabinet design.
We also wanted a 4x10 in our line that was tighter than the XB series.
So, in the end, I feel the Uber has less mids than the Neox series and is tighter and punchier than the XB series. I think it is a bit more "organic" than the Neox series too. We really wanted a the benefits of Neo's for power handling, quick response and weight but we wanted more of a classic, aggressive tone found in ceramic cabinets.
Some other neo 4x10's on the market are VERY nice but they're also very "polite" to my ears. We wanted ours to be a bit more rude.
I'd be curious to hear a comparison between the Uber and the 610. I'm looking for low end and volume. The Uber obviously holds up well in a blues setting but I'm curious how it would handle a raging metal band with 2 loud guitars & a pummeling drummer. You can see what I play in my sig, I barely keep up w/ the volume at 3/4.
Okay Roger, then you now have an assignment, should you choose to accept it!
UBER 212!!!

OK I have had a couple weeks and a couple rehearsals with the Uber 410. Since I am getting a bit tired of getting "fanboy" and "you're biased and should just shut up about Genz" emails and PM's I will just say this....
I love this cab. Roger was correct that its lowend is just as big as the 212's. The 212's have a rounder sound and are more upper mid present to my ear while the UB410 is more aggressive sounding with less upper mids.
This is the cab I am going with.
IMO
YMMV

Did I cover every "disclaimer"?

IMO and IME... the issue you are describing is at least as much attributable to the IIIpro as the cab.. that head is known for lack of headroom and a very gritty, grindy tone that gets flubbier at higher volumes.

Hmmm, just a quick factoid: 610 XB2 => 130 pounds. Uber 810 => 120 pounds.
Just think of a 1200 into an 810 to scare your guitar guys ...
Cheers
Whoah, John! That's cool looking! This is funny. My 810 weighs 230lbs and is great for clearing a path to the stage during load in. I also have an Ampeg Isovent cab that weighs 134lbs (great for practicing around the house, but too outdated for public work anymore).

Cool! Although I don't know why I'm asking. I'm still tickled pink with the NeoX cabs. But how can you resist a cabinet that's designed to be more "rude"?we're working on that....also a 2x10.
And to answer the many PM's I've been getting: No, Uber does not and will not replace the NeoX series. Because I still gig with them.![]()
