Uber 410 = Uber Bad *ss

This is funny. My 810 weighs 230lbs and is great for clearing a path to the stage during load in. I also have an Ampeg Isovent cab that weighs 134lbs (great for practicing around the house, but too outdated for public work anymore).

That cab looks like a guy wearing a gas mask!

Cheers

Just got the XB-2 cab this week from bigMikeW and I planned to use it with one of my Neox 212T cabs this Friday nite gig at the big biker bar Ive posted about here before. I know that 410 is a hog so is it OK to place the 50-something pound 212T below it then GBE750 on top of that cab stack? The 212 cabs are sturdy so I dont think I'll crush it but thats about 100lb cab then about 40lb amp in rack case that will sit on top of the 212T on a plain about 8" tall naked plywood stage, I'll place a piece of carpet on floor first.

Only slightly kidding about crushing the Neox cab but might the 212T sound better on top of the 410 since the XB-2 has those 4 ports at bottom. Will those ports work better sitting closer to the floor. First time Im using the XB-2 at a gig, I'll report back to see how it went. Oh and I know, flip the powerflex switch to 2 ohms this time

I asked the same question and got a definitive "maybe".

we'll do one. ...I just don't know when. We are a small shop and we're busting with production now. It doesn't make sense to introduce product that we can't ship. Some companies do but I've never understood the point of what we call "vapor ware".

We're getting lots of requests lately for ext. cabs for Shuttles, bags, preamps etc. We would love to do all of it but it just isn't practical at this time.

I'm wondering how the uber 410 would sound with an all tube head. Would this be a nice alternative to the Berg NV series?

They sound great with tube heads but I have to admit, I don't gig out with tube heads so I only have experience at studio volumes.

put the Neox on it's left side so the tweeter is up off the floor. Then, put the 4x10 on top like you described. This is how we ran Randy Jacksons rig when he visited....and we tried all sorts of combos first.

I was going to lay the 212 on its side like that w/410 on top. But your saying the tweeter up top, I planned to close tweeter on the bottom cab (212) and leave the tweeter on the top cab (410) on abit. Any reason I should not do that?
Is the tweeter better in one cab compared to the other?

Ive just read here where folks usually do this, Im guessing cause the tweeter on the top cab will offer the highs and the lower cab tweeter off will offer just lows as the bottom cab. Any danger in turning the tweeter off completely on either cab. I can run about 15%-25% tweet on both if the tweets are better running some than completely off.

I prefer to run a single tweeter when stacking cabs. No real reason why, except that most tall single cabs (such as an 810) have a single tweeter. I'd rather run the highest tweeter hotter so that I can hear it, and not worry about now the lower tweeter that I can't hear is projecting. It's probably not a big deal either way, but I have a little more confidence this way, so I just set it and forget it.
