Uber 410 = Uber Bad *ss

You know what, I don't lol. I think both were set at noon. But let me clarify, the Uber410 did not LACK highs in any way! The berg just had a different type of treble response that seemed a little more present (terrible word, I know). Neither of these cabs were at a real deficit at all. They were both smokin' and I doubt anyone would be unhappy with either, but the UB410 was just friggin sick in the lows and low mids. I was really impressed with that cab.:bassist::bassist::bassist:

I understand what you're saying completely. One thing that can be very proprietary from one cabinet company to another is the tweeter/horn and the cross over.

Couple of questions for the Genz Benz guys. I have a gbe 600, and am considering between a 212 and maybe an uber 410. Will the GBE 600's lack of power (maybe not the right term) at 4 ohms be a major issue. I understand at 4 ohms ubers power handling is 1000 w to 425w? at 4 ohms of the 600. Could there be some issues here?

When will we be seeing the first of these in Australia. Unfortunately the only music store that carries them is a couple of hours away. The Billy Hyde chain carries your gear here- and is the closest to me.

The last question i have is tone related. Which one (between the neox212 and the 410) would you pair up with this sort of music ( Link Removed (moonlit is the best example)). I havent recorded on any of these songs- but have the feeling the 212 will be a little more rounded. It'd be powered with the 600, with either a stingray 5 or streamer lx 4.

I know i've posed a few questions here.. but Genz users and endorsers always seem willing to help out.

Thanks for any help.

I posted in this thread of recieving the GB XB-2 410T cab to pair with one of my Neox 212T's w/GBE750 at a big biker bar where I had issues with my 2 212T's last gig. Well to be honest Im thinking now the real issue at that time was that I did not have the powerflex switch over to the 2 ohm setting while using the 2-4 ohm cabs and I was trying to push much too much lows with my EQ/LF settings. But I did use the 2-212T's at a large, though more enclosed club where they sounded fine.
A TBer I PM'd cause he also had the XB-2, told me when I asked, to leave the 212 at home and just use the XB-2, It'll be great. Well based on my experience at the large bar last time I brought the 212 but left in the SUV and tried 1st set with the XB-2 alone. I tell you this is one awesome cab, it filled the room and I made it thru the nite with the one cab. It sounded big and clean all nite long, even at higher volumes as the club filled up more later on. Sure its a bit heavier than my 212T's but I know now I can use the 410 alone, one cab, one trip. And I can also apply the 2-212Ts at certain rooms I will be giggin each month.

Finally, after reading a very good thread here on using mids/ low mids, I can see now that I was just using way too much low settings to feel the cabs but was killing the rigs power/sound/tone. So cool, Im set knowing which cab(s) to use at which rooms for the next couple months at least playing the same rooms. Now I gotta figure out where to interject my SWR 410 cab that I've hung onto cause I really dig it. Heck might be time to sell it since I've got the working combos of amps/cabs now. Sweet.

AND, I only get once a year to tell my fav joke that noone else likes but here goes.....

Whats invisible and smells like carrots"?

I think either the Neox or the Uber series would do well for your music. ...nice MySpace page BTW.

The GBE600 will be fine for an Uber 4x10. It will really be about the type of tone you want. For me, based on your music, I'd say Uber....but, that it a very personal choice.

When in Aus- well, Billy Hydes has them on order. I'd think they'd be there in less than two months.

All the best,
Roger

I actually have the feeling I might go a neo 210 and 212. There is a 210 for sale quite reasonably priced and if i get that, i'll then just get a 212. Gives me more flexibility, more power at 2 ohm- and it'll look pretty cool too. Leave one at the practice place and one at home- and only bring them together to do crazy family pictures in the same vain as Fretless boy.

We'll see- but that 2 months wait for an uber would be killer. I could always pair the 210 with the 410. Urrghhhhh... what a tough place i am in at the moment ;)

lol, I don't see it as a tough place because you have choices. And they are all good choices. Not to add more choices but if you go with the 210 for now, you could a 112 next. I have always loved the 210/112 sound. Then get the Uber410 and you'd have many choices/combinations to chose from.

The 212 will cut most of what you do on a daily basis so it is a wonderful choice as well. The 212/Uber410 (I believe Randy Jackson's tour choice) is one massive sounding rig. 212 laying down with the 410 on top is beastly by any messure.

Right on the mark Ernie. The thing is with multiple cabinets, you learn what each one is best at. Once you learn that, making good choices becomes a much easier task. OK, I am playing here... that means this combination to get it done best. Will all the rigs get it done? Yes they will. You just have to play with some rigs more in certain places to get what you want. To me, the GBE1200/Uber410 is just a bear of an amp. It will hurt you and I think it will harm the ozone as well. I love this combination and I may use it tonight in a room that it will most definately be overkill...:hyper: Did I mention I love overkill?

I hope you're not referencing my for sale add on my 210, because it's about to not be for sale. :o lol.

My friend bought a gbe600 after hearing my 1200.. He was telling me how LOUD his 600 is.... i had no idea how loud it was till i played it last week... Not only is the 600 LOUD but it is one of the sweetest sounding amps that may have ever herd... were were playing it through my pair of aguilar gs112s and his newly acquired neox212 together and then separately. we also tried the 600 with his ampeg 4x10 with the big ports on the front bottom cab,,, and the walls were shaking,,,,he is a cop so we didnt have to worry about any cops coming to tell us to turn it down.. hahah

Dont let that 425 watts at 4 ohms fool you.. it is way louder than other amps rated at that power in my opinion.... and to top it off it is able to do 2 ohms too..
I have not heard the 600 with an uber 410... but i can only thing it would be very nice..

That's cool. I will keep you posted as the next Appitites Dates

Doin good. Just got back from vacation a couple of days ago.

Not sure about the 26th - we're probably going to be visiting the parental units in Virginia that weekend.

Any Appetites gigs coming up?

How are things with you?

Well any one that might have known me through Eden knows my love for modular... and the 210/112 ("Carona" rig). It reall is about choices but only if you need a versatile rig. For some versatile means "do I take 1 or 2 410's or 212's"? To others working in a miriad of situations those choices become paramount to the rig's ability to be split up. I think having a 212 and a 210 would make most situations work.I love 12's myself but the Uber410 is the cabinet that "Howitzer" appears to have designed.:)
Now, would an uber 210 be a wonderful thing? YES IT WOULD.

I'm with Dennis on this. Modular for me is the way to go. You have the right rig for any situation. In my case, I only have two cabinets, a Neox 212 and 112. Yet, I have three different rigs. I can do a small gig with the 112, a medium gig with the 212, or a large gig with the 212/112 together. I can lay the 212 on it's side for more bottom if I need to, and then put the 112 on top. Or I can stack them vertically for better dispersion and to get more height.

BIG +1. To my ears (w/STL 6.0) the UB410 is beastly. It puts out the kind of lows that I've only heard from my NV215 and my Neox-212, AND it's got even more gut busting punch than the 212 (which is VERY punchy in its own right). Sick, sick cab...and I barely got to turn it up! I'd love to hear two of these bad boys...*cough* hurry up Dennis *cough* :ninja: :D
