Uber 410 = Uber Bad *ss

I'm still waiting for Tom's 1200/212 review, so no uber for you! :D

Seriously though, can't wait for the first edition to come out. Looks to be like a lot of fun, and I can see how you've certainly been busy. Just like picking with you a bit.

Damn, you kinda got a good point, there... :hmm:

Thanks for the support. It has taken us longer than anticipated to nail down our test equipment, software, procedures, etc., but we really want our tests to be as fair, accurate, and useful as possible, so we are taking the time to get it 'right' - but in a 'bust your @$$ fast kinda manner! :D

I bet you are, Tom. Just having a bit of fun at your expense. I'm sure the issue will be nice when it gets here, and it gives me something to look forward to. Besides, I already know what I think of the 1200/212. :D

And my thoughts pretty much mirror yours. I did post some gig results on the 1200/212/212 rig back a ways, and it's a killer setup, for sure. Next time, though, I lay both 212's on their sides. :bassist:

After reading here on TB I stacked my 2-212T cabs w/GBE750 in array alignment at a couple gigs. I have to say to my ears its abit much to have me in my own ear so much, even with no PA for me. At last gig I layed the cabs on thier sides one atop the other, now that was very nice. Very tight, clear lows that I'd not heard before. I think I like this setup for the blues-rock band. Now rehearsing with a 70's funk/disco/R&B band and I'll get PA support in that band at gigs. But the cab stacked upright, aligned seems to work better for this music and band setup at rehearsal. Cleaner, clearer highs n mids for the pop/slap style these songs require. Good thing is, the rig can work in both bands. Tho I did just acquire a XB-2 cab, so I'll apply that as needed, trying it out for first time tonite. Cool.

Dennis (fretlessboy) had covers custom made by someone, so there's at least one place that has the pattern already and can just make more. Not sure who he uses, though ... pm him, or I'm sure he'll check in sometime soon.

Cheers

I think the Uber410 is the perfect 410 cabinet. Enough mids to cut but not as much as an XLT. The lowend is solid but not at all muddy. It is sort of a combination xlt/xst but with more nut. So it should sound great with a WT800

hey dennis im not sure if this has been asked or not
but how do you feel about the uber 410 paired with a wt800a

??

My covers (neoX112 and 212) were made by Larry at www.LeCover.com We just did a redesign because he didn't acount for the tilt back wheels. We are shortening the back panel 2 inches to allow it to roll. I did in fact order padded as always. With padding they don't tear your car up loading them... and I guess it's better for the cabinet.

Thanks Eublet, fishtx & Liam G for such a quick response regarding NEOX 212T cover. Much appreciated !! :D

I ordered 2 navy blue covers for my 212T's from www.amplifiercovers.com and first time I slipped em on I realized they shoulda cut the back of the cover shorter to allow for the 2 caster wheels. When I roll it from my spare room to my garage to load up, I have to pull the cover up a couple inches to clear the wheels or the cover snags against them. So like a lady walking thru a mud puddle I have to slide and hold the cover up above the bottom of cab as I wheel it to and from SUV, good idea to get em shortened FLessboy.

And these coulda been made a bit sturdier. Once I lifted the cab and did not clear the plastic covered bumper on my ride and I got 2 scrapes on the cover that went down to the fabric, I mean I just rubbed the bumper. Seems like they need to use thicker vinyl and even some thicker fabric inside wouldn't hurt. When I emailed them about repair ideas they suggested, go to auto store and buy a vinyl repair kit, just haven't done that yet. But the cab or my bumper did not take the hit, so I guess it served its purpose. Other than that they are holding up fine, keeps dust and pet hair off the cabs.

So I finally got to hear a UB410. A/B'ed it against the Berg AE410 too (using the head from the Shuttle 6.0 + 210 combo I bought today!!). The Uber 410 was noticeably deeper and bigger sounding than the Berg, but lacked the super highs that the Berg had (i could only really tell when slapping). Both cabs could be Eq'd to get close to each others sound, but in my opinion neither really nailed the other one's tone. Two different flavors of GREAT!!!

do you recall where the tweeter was set? Most people usually have to roll it off a bit...including me.

You know what, I don't lol. I think both were set at noon. But let me clarify, the Uber410 did not LACK highs in any way! The berg just had a different type of treble response that seemed a little more present (terrible word, I know). Neither of these cabs were at a real deficit at all. They were both smokin' and I doubt anyone would be unhappy with either, but the UB410 was just friggin sick in the lows and low mids. I was really impressed with that cab.:bassist::bassist::bassist:
