Uh Oh!!!

I saw a guy about 8 years ago played better than most people I've ever seen, and he had no arms . . . he played the thing on the floor with his toes~! Do you think anybody cared about, or can remember, the brand of bass he was playing? POINT being it matters not a damn what a person plays, but that he plays, and not even how well he plays . . .

Hmmm...interesting. When I see a person playing a Fender bass, I think "Cool, a Fender. Nice bass!"

Being that Fender basses are the most commonly found in the hands of pros for live music and in recording studios around the world for quite a few decades now, they have never struck me as amateur looking instruments - quite the opposite, actually.

Maybe it's just because I'm old. Now git offa ma lawn!!!

I'm perfectly comfortable looking like a n00b or an amateur in your eyes, just so long as people keep paying good money to come see my bands shows, and buy our c.d.'s.


Oh, and as long as engineers both live and in the studio keep telling me how damned good my trusty P basses sound and record too.

And just because the bass looks like a Fender doesn't mean its a Fender. Timmy C from Rage doesn't even play his Fenders anymore, he is playing Laklands now.

Here is an interesting thought, if you were deaf and watching a bassist playing a Fender like lets say Jaco Pastorius and you didn't know who he was, you would probably say, "W0W TH4T GUY 1S US1NG a F3ND3R W4T A N00B". If you were blind and listening to Jaco and you didnt know who he was but you knew stuff about bass, you would probably say, "W0W TH4T GUY 1S S0 F*CK1NG G00D".

Think about it.

I'm probably on the other side of the fence, when I see a bass player using a $$$$ custom bass with more than 5 strings and a top that looks like someone puked on it, I think they look like fools.
