Unwatchable movies

I'm usually pretty good at avoiding the movies I know I won't like, so I rarely walk out of a movie. I figure, if I paid for the ticket I should give the movie a chance.
Tree of Life. I sat through the whole thing hoping it would redeem itself at some point and become the most profound thing I have ever experienced. Nope, didn't happen. It was terribly pretentious and not very profound at all. I can't even remember the point it was trying to make.
Prometheus was a disappointment. Neil De Grasse Tyson said the same thing I was thinking: The take-away? Occasions arise when being curious is bad for your life expectancy.
The first Scream movie was an occasion when I was really fooled by a movie. I thought I was going to see a parody of a schlocky teen slasher movie but it turned out to be a schlocky teen slasher movie.

How about the ones that you start to watch out of morbid curiosity and you end up blown away? I had the lowest of expectations for Dead Mans Shoes and came away supremely surprised and satisfied. The countryside and music alone make it a top movie for me. The story and acting throw it over the top.

I'm amazed with all the Will Ferrell hate in here, no one has mentioned Adam Sandler. The only movie of his I can make it through is Happy Gilmore. And this includes his more "serious" movies as well. I find it difficult sitting through the trailers of them.
I also just happened to remember that I've never made it through any of the Rocky movies.

i admit to hating adam sandler ALMOST as much as i hate will ferrell, BUT will ferrell is so grotesquely bad, so absolutely, so completely, totally bad that i just cannot think of anything else when the point is will ferrell.
as i said in another thread, i would crawl across broken glass to watch an adam sandler movie if you told me my alternative was will ferrell.
that, i admit, is saying a lot, because i can't watch more than 10 minutes of adam sandler without unswallowing, but will ferrell? c'mon....he gives new meaning to the word sux. SUX SUX SUX.....i mean will ferrell totally SUX (I MEAN SUX SUX SUX!).
on the good side...Monty Python and the Holy Grail & Monty Python's The Life of Brian are real good.
I have seen a lot of crappy movies. of all the crappy movies I've seen, there are 3 movies that I find to be very unwatchable. those movies are moulin rogue, freddy got fingered, and company of wolves. freddy got fingered is unwatchable because it has no plot, there some vile and disgusting parts and it's just playing stupid. tom green has won a lot of razzies for that movie.
Moulin rogue would be another movie I find unwatchable. I wish this movie has won razzie. that movie is terrible. for one thing, this movie looks like it was directed and edited by someone with a.d.d. it makes the movie look like it's going nowhere. I mean watching this movie is a lot like reading a book from page 1 skip to page 5 and go back to page 3. it's confusing. and also there's some weirdos in this movie. that's why I find this movie to be unwatchable. and it also the reason why I think this movie deserves a razzie.
Company of wolves is another razzie winner in my opinion. my mother watch this movie one night and my brother and I find this movie to be weird and terrible at the same time. my brother complimented that this movie looks like someone's acid trip. all I can tell you is that there's a lot of weird parts in this movie that seems to be very questionable. and that's another movie that I fine to be very unwatchable.

+10000, I love Nemo, I am 38 years old and have watched these movies with my children so many times it is sickening..but they are great!

The Departed is a great movie. will ferrell i can not stand, he ruined SNL for me with the cheerleader crap. I love every Sandler flick except one, the one where he has that Spanish house keeper, hated it! I love The Big Labowski and HATE, I mean HATE all the Vampire crap that has jumped on the bandwagon after the crappy teen flicks Twilight!
I try and give every film a fair chance. I've never walked out of the cinema partway through. I'm a sucker for the so-bad-it's-good genre (Megashark vs Giant Octopus - what's not to like?).
I can recall turning off Transformers and Bean (and have avoided the sequels), maybe because they caught me in the wrong mood or maybe because they really are that bad. The only DVD I've returned without finishing was Moulin Rouge - good to see it's not just me that couldn't finish it. Took it back to the shop and got AI instead. Man, that was a bad evening.

I no longer go to the theater, just rent DVDs on Netflix, so I usually have a pretty high tolerance for crappy films since I'm watching in the comfort of my home and probably drinking beer.

I'm kinda surprised to see District 9 mentioned several times in this thread, I thought that was one of the most interesting & provocative sci-fi films to come out in the past couple decades...though more for it's socio-political angle than its sci-fi per se.

The Big Lebowski is the most overrated movie in history. I've seen it twice and it's mildly humorous at the very best.
Regarding The Departed, as all of Scorsese's movies are, since he's so in love with himself, it was 45 minutes too long. A LOT of that movie could have and should have been left on the editing room floor. As it is with all of his movies, except for MAYBE Raging Bull.

Anything that has Dennis Quaid in it gets an automatic thumbs down, but I was actually pleasantly surprised by John Carter of Mars.
I agree on District 9, and I'm a HUGE sci-fi head.
