I don't use the app, but mostly visit here on my MacBook Pro/Safari, but the occasional iPhone 6/safari visit works fine, too.
I might keep the app just for the cool bass clef icon on my phone.
OMG...First basses with more than 2 knobs and now this..I'm gonna kill myself..
It seems like every forum and website has their own proprietary app that they want you to use to access their website. I don't understand how that's better than just using my browser.
Why would I want to maintain multiple apps to access multiple websites, when my browser already accesses all of them?

I loaded the app on my phone when it first came out and used it a couple of times but then went back to the browser so won't miss it.
I don't see why this is an issue, open Xcode and Android Studio and repoint the discreet apps to new endpoints.
It's an excuse to make infrastructure cheaper, easier to manage, and hook in new functionality to generate income driven data.
I'm a certified VMware and AWS architect designing and deploying infrastructure centered on global enterprise Web and mobile apps for companies above $1bn revenue.

1) Our builds generate a lot of info that is used by the client teams for features that target the consumers needs/wants/etc. Simply making sure updates are properly tested is kind of a chore given the fact mobile device and OS updates tend to be more destructive than even a gaming console to code.
2) You can re-architect infrastructure to be very inexpensive and easy to self-manage. It's a constant churn, and a decent developer would be trying to streamline their deployments with their team ahead of hitting a brick wall. I'm on the Ops side, and used to setup infrastructure templates for Dev teams to self-deploy. Problem was I'd have to teach them to monitor and manage it when really all they cared about was their build. Everyone tends to use services rather than deal with learning to be a linux admin of any kind. I guess if you are stuck in the 1-guy in a bedroom paradigm merging Security closer to the Build test cycle exploring Functions-as-a-Service isn't a big deal bc there are no real product owners breathing down your neck every budget slam.
3) It's the name of the Ops game right now to lower costs yet make sure availability is 99.999999999% up, along with helping Dev crank down builds into discreet functions. What is this Dev doing? I mean where does this person work that they haven't noticed that even Microsoft has been pushing toward this direction in Azure? We all are constantly iterating our builds, driving down costs, and adding layers of functionality.

Hey, does the person maintaining the TB site actually know how to configure a CDN for availability based on task tracking or what? BC pushing pub to mobile shouldn't be such an issue.
just to shore that up, I didn't really find the App all that functional. It is easier to just go directly to the website, and on my phone it functions the same as if I use a desktop (just smaller)
Depends on how much networking a build owner wants to learn.
There is a movement toward using Redis as a DB to move static read data closer to dynamic data.
You end up targeting multiple tasks rather than overall resource use, and really expanding how your message queue deals with producers.
If you get really good at that, I have a buddy at Netflix that's always hiring for his team......bc Web is mobile and slamming content to mobile endpoints isn't rocket science.
If you study how Amazon uses DynamoDB to maintain functionality in it's store, you'd see how much more you can get out of what you have.....or you'd want to shift your platform asap bc the things holding you back are easy to overcome.
I'm the guy that always logs on through the browser and requests to see full site and has it set to OG view mode. lol
