Urinal Etiquette

Wasn't this covered in a Seinfeld episode once?

Anyway... slightly off track, but I am appalled at how many dudes I see not washing their hands before they head out the door. In response I now make this my standard practice when in ANY bathroom not in my own home:

1) Finish business

2) Wash hands thoroughly in the hottest water I can take, and soap

3) Dry hands on paper towel

4) Keep used paper towel in my left hand and use it to open the door (keeps germs from the door handle away from my hand... reverse the procedure if you're left handed)

5) Hold door open with my foot and toss used paper towel in the trash; exit acheived without my hands ever touching the door handle

Doesn't make much sense to wash up and then put your hand on a handle some other guy did who didn't wash, does it? This little ritual has helped keep me a lot healthier than I probably should be given the places I'm often in.

Yeppers...no place for all that modesty crap in my Corps. After enough open showers, pissers, and crappers, not to mention the typical 15~20 minute window to s***, shower, shave, dress, and be standing tall for morning formation, you get immune to the sight of another man's junk, someone close enough to touch dropping a mud monkey, bleeding the lizard, etc. It's also a good time to catch up on the latest scuttlebutt, so conversation during evacuation of waste is a given.

Ewwwwwwwwwww! *puke*

Do you wash your hands after scratching your chin? Perhaps youve got a jet stream and splash yourself?

I dont necessarily feel the need to wash my hands after using a urinal. I dont find my zipper, or the act of whipping it out to be very dirty. My pants are clean, Ive showered, my parts are clean. Meh. If I get a little splashback Im going to wash them, for sure. Im neurotic when it comes to keeping my hands clean, yet I dont feel like I need to after taking a leak.

There. I said it.

Too lazy to read whole thread, so I apologize if its been mentioned, but..

Anyone who likes this post should definitely get this

It's by the same a**hole who does that website "the best page in the universe" or whatever. The book is HILARIOUS and has a whole chapter dedicated to Urinal Etiquette! My favorite quote is

HOLD YOUR PEACE WHILE YOU HOLD YOUR PIECE!

lol no one likes a random conversation starter when their junk is out

It's a matter of hygiene. Where there's pee and poo, there's germs. They're everywhere in a toilet area and so whilst your junk and clothes may be clean, other things you touch might not be.

I usually wash my hands BEFORE I pee. I mean, I know where my junk has been, but my hands have been all over the place.

The worst urinal etiquette breach Ive ever seen was at a baseball game when I was a teenager. This guy was standing in line at the urinal, and the line was really long, and it was really hot in there. This guy went to the sink, pulled his willy out, and started peeing in the sink. No kidding. And I dont recall anyone saying anything to him.
My good friend once did that. We were racing for one toilet cabin and I won. Well, it was a draw, because when I left the cabin, I saw him pissing in the sink. I allways chuckle when I remember that :roflmao:

Actually, think about washing your hands before hitting the urinal; makes more sense to keep it all clean down there. Then wash afterwords too, especially if there is not auto flush.

Also as far as bathroom weirdness goes. Try going to the john at a busy casino, sometimes the ladies line gets too long and the non discriminatory ones will just head right into the men's room stalls.
