"Valenti Basses" Headstock

I like the design. It does remind of "A" basses or Valley Arts but since those basses rock....thats a good thing. If you don't mind me asking, what will a standard model sell for?

I like the first sketch too but I think the thing is that there might be legal issues with some of his designs being to close to other peoples.bikeplate said:

My subtle opinion is that the proposed head gives a new dimension to the english word "bass". A low tuned stringed instrument with a fish head at the end...

Sorry, I don't see any big "whoop" about the headstock design because it's been done several times.............e.g., (among others)

When you first showed me the design I thought it was pretty cool. It was certainly something Id like on one of my basses, but I auggested other possibilities because I thought it reminded me of someone elses design. I didnt want to see you get in trouble for copying someones design after all.
After going through this thread Ive realized the obvious: its all been done.
Your's might be share features with the rest, but its still different, and if I saw it next to all the others Id probably be able to pick it out with out much problem. There are some of the other ones mentioned that look more like each other than your design looks like any of the others.
Just go for it man.

I don't like the design that much. I mean. There is nothing really wrong with it, but it's not my cup of tea.

Honestly, out of all the design's I like mine the best.

Well that was incoherent.How about 2/3 Sadowsky, 1/3 Lakland? Divide it how you will.
The more I think about this one the more I think my version (that I couldn't figure out how to post antway) is too close to the Sadowsky. It's too subtle a difference. I think it is just a subliminal sign that I want a Sadowsky. Hmmmmm.
jamma dave is bringing it! i think the poll should be between his 2 designs cuz i like them both the best... i think they are the most origional and attractive

just a thought for nino... if you leave the headstock the way warmoth made it you might not have any legal issues seeing as how you arent the one who designed it that way, id refer anyone who said **** to warmoth because they are the ones that made it that way... fender has to be aware of you to sue you too, and if you limit your business to dealing with people from talk bass / ebay then i could see you staying below the radar... besides the 1st step in any legal process envolving copyright infringement is a cease and decist letter... i had an issue with porsche because of a domain name that i owned and they sent me a cease and decist and i complied and that was the end of it, no lawsuit... you might want to check with a lawyer but id say you shouldnt have a problem leaving the headstock alone

Warmoth does whatever headstock you ask for, he's asking for his own. If he wnated he could ask for Fender's.egotistical said:

Considering the history of lawsuits between Fender and other companies copying their designs, I dont think anyone could plead ignorance.
