Victor Lemonte Wooten

I'm always hearing about this guy name Victor Wooten, who is he ?
come on... he shares the same birthday as you! :smug:

Here is a pic from last Wednesday's gig of Vic's with the Flecktones:

... the cat with the long hair is also a scary-good bassist and good friend of mine, Charlie Wooton.

He's a cool guy with a great attitude, and, yeah, I admit it, he inspired me to learn how to double-thump just like 3 billion other bass players out there. Not really into the tapping thing though.

Sloppy or not...he's doing what all of us bass players wish that we could do...have is own Thread on TB :D
(plus the ability to get props from every bass legend out there)

I've been a long time Victa fan...he helped find another dimension of my bass...I do some things better...and some not...but he got me doing it.

HECK...Look what he did for Fodera...$$$

I honestly have not looked around youtube and seen some of the great players and Victor is somewhat new to me, heard the name etc, but he gets high marks in most every area.

He has fun playing the bass.
He actually helps folks and teaches them new stuff also.

Critics seldom ever do:spit:

It's art and that means it's pretty highly subjective, but if it sounds good, it is good

But I'm grateful for the thread and the forum, it's opened me up to many new bassist and methods. I doubt I'll have another dry spell again:) Just watch a few videos and then I have to go practice for a year :p

I'd be interested in seeing Victor's Fretless work, I love fretless and just go me a tasty Warwick Thumb 5 string. I'm going to epoxy the fretboard ala Jaco. Man, I got so much practicing and work to do.

You must be kidding!

Agreed.

Check out one or ANY of his solo albums (much less his Flecktones work) to be truly converted.

This guy is a nincompoop deluxe! Victor can and does play bass in styles all over the spectrum. His double/triple slap/pop stuff is a small taste of his universe of bass knowledge.

The above-poster's ignorance doesn't change that...
