Rear loading sure looks like a painful way of going about it, any idea why the original has them rear loaded? I don't see Tnuts on the front face face of the original ones either, strange.
In one of the pics Edbass posted, you can see four black T-nuts for each place where a speaker goes. For mine, I used eight t-nuts each, because I'm obsessive like that.
No idea why they're rear loaded, perhaps it was just the usual way things were done at the time? I'm not sure if there's any advantage/disadvantage besides convenience to either method.
The speaker in the ebay link has pretty much the same magnet size as mine, though the marking on the back of mine is red instead of blue.Did you check out the ebay link? It might jog your memory on your magnet size.
