Congratulations dude. I was watching that bass too. I almost bid on it but the same guy had a '79 Stingray that I bid on (and won! yea!). Much rather have a worn one like that than a pristine collector's item. I traded a pristine '71 (on sale on TB right now BTW) but it just didn't have any mojo for me. Looked like it was brand new.
I like it - congrats... If you're going to stick with the white PG, check out the pup covers I put on my '76:

Great score, man. I know the rap on '70s Fenders, but I've always had good luck with them. You didn't overpay, IMO.
You won that ray? sweet, i was looking at that bass as well!
As for worn , I dont mind body wear as long as the neck is pretty clean , which this one appears to be. A buggard up neck drives me crazy.
Thanks for all the compliments guys. The more I look at past sold bass around 73-75, the more I realize i got a great price as I see ones in this shape going for 15-1800$

That's a beauty....good score! I had the opportunity to buy one just like that about 5 yrs ago for $1000 and didn't do it....major regret
Yeah I almost bought the one below, but I am glad a paid the extra 200$ for a cleaner, more original bass and a way lighter one.
This one just has to much abuse on the headstock for me and the neck looks way grubby. The reason i really wanted the one i got was i was told it weighed in at 7 1/2 pounds , it was 100% original and the neck was pretty clean.

I always like to see pictures of 70s Fenders, especially closeups. I'm interested in how Fender changed the cosmetics and hardware over the years. The tuners on your bass are similar to those on my 1974 Jazz. The tuners on my 1975 Precision are the type they used in the later 70s, but it still got the early 70s decal:
And by the way: $1330 is a very good price. I paid 1500 for mine, which is the average price for a mid-70s P over here.

Yeah I saw that, i think you did pretty good........I wanted his ray to but couldnt afford both basses.
I paid $2000 for my all original '74 P 5-6 years ago.
The market is soft, but what you paid is still a good deal. It is likely still worth $1600-1800 in this economy.

I've still got mine that I bought for £235 in 1974. It's closer to 10lbs though. I brought it out of retirement for a blast at practice a couple of weeks back and it still sounds and plays beautifully. All original apart from a BadAss bridge.
