Don’t know what those are, but if you want get something more period correct, it would be wavy Grover’s or Schaller BM series. @PaulBoyer can probably tell you what “should” be on there, if you decide to take them off. Hopefully they didn’t widen the post holes with a butter knife.

As of right now, I'm going to have the headstock issues corrected. She also has the tell-tale fretboard separating from the neck by the headstock (due to improper truss rod adjustment). But I've dealt with that before and it's totally reversible/fixable...

Also will go thru the truss rods and electronics and clean her up. Oh, and get the correct knobs. Beyond that, not much.... I want her to maintain this "rode hard, put up wet" look. After all, she toured with two different punk / death-metal bands....

Absolutely. Get her healthy and let her tell her story!!!

The footprint marked by the screws seems to indicate wavy grovers.

Nice, love the overall look of it. You can tell it had some custom work done and has not only age but a lot of playing miles on it, however bet it still plays and sounds like a dream.

I agree; they have the "S" logo and "Made in Germany" printed on the back, so... either Schaller or good copies

C.D.'s best album was recorded with Maitri, IMHO (most likely using that bass)
Saw her perform with them in the 90s

Great bass, even better story. Would like to see the end result.

C.D. only put out one great album.."Only Theatre of Pain". Anything after Rozz Williams left was meh at best.

Yup. Get the headstock/tuner and fretboard stabilized, take out the .0047 cap (or add a push/pull) and play the heck out of 'er.

@Aceonbass can build you a period correct wiring harness with a push/pull.

My dream Rick is a 4001 in Mapleglo with the skunk stripe. (I'll never be able to afford one with checkered binding)

Outside of repairing the crack in the headstock, cleaning up the hardware and finding the correct tuners I wouldn't do anything else it's a vintage Ric and I love that look congrats.

I tend to agree, but think black knurled knobs would look cool. Really interesting to know the provenance.

Ok, she's done!!! The bass has been saved!

Kevin Brubaker did an amazing job! He glued and clamped the neck, repairing the cracks and separation. He said that the epoxy is actually stronger than the wood and should never crack in those places again.

He pulled the truss rods, cleaned and serviced them (and the block, nuts, etc).

He also leveled, crowned and polished all of the frets. Neck is straight and the action is very low!

He buffed the whole body and neck. Kevin also replaced the crackly mono output jack and cleaned all of the pots, etc.

I replaced the white TRC and the pickguard with black parts. Also replaced the knobs. I still have the original TRC, pickguard, etc (including HSC) with no plans of getting rid of them.

I also did the treble (bridge) pup cap mod, but made sure that it was reversible (wire in-line with the cap).

I'm a very happy camper!
