Virginia Bassists

Could be... Might just be that they don't like Rush... Who knows? Might have to move the cabs behind the bar - I can't be that loud without speakers (visible)...

Honestly, there's a band I can hear from my house sometimes, they've gotta be practicing out of someone's garage, and the cops don't get called on them. It's either the ones right next to me or the ones directly across from me.

Either way, I don't mind getting a noise complaint, but it really aggravated me that they didn't have the common courtesy to come over and ask me to quiet down. I mean, it was 8:30pm, for cryin' out loud.

At any rate, you missed out on that Adam Nitti clinic... very sweet.

Your first post, and it's about how much you hate the area?

At least fill out your profile so we'll know what gear you're leaving behind for Riis... ;)

Seriously, what's so bad about it? I don't care for the fenced area in Virginia Beach between First Colonial and General Booth, but otherwise I love the area...

The fenced-in area wouldn't be so bad if it had a swingset, teeter-totter, and sandbox. Seriously, my wife is the magazine merchandiser at Oceana's exchange. Here's a typical customer conversation:

Customer: "Excuse me, but do you carry...ROARRRRR.....?"

Wife: "What?"

Literally LOL'd at 5:30 in the morning.

Seriously, I wouldn't even mind the "fenced area" if I wasn't wearing a blue shirt every day, Monday through Friday.

Maybe I'll go over to the exchange and see if I can find Bass Player...

Just got off the phone with Mrs. Zooberwerx. No, they don't carry Bass Player but they do carry Guitar Player, Guitar World, etc. for the 2 to 3 guitarists who actually know how to read. Surprisingly enough (I never knew this until this morning), she also is the distributor for Playboy, Playgirl, and Penthouse magazines....so, if you're thinkin' porn, think "Zooberwerx"!

Is that the sound of freedom you are talking about????

Absolutely! For those who are not familar, the Concerned Citizens Against Jet Noise (CCAJN) is a local activist group who either bought or built homes around the Oceana jet fighter base and then belly-ache about the noise levels. Jeeez!

And just to show you what a patriotic family we are, my wife has single-handedly taken on the daunting task of ensuring that these brave fighting men have access to the full complement of pornography as allowed by NAVEX command.

Translation: she keeps the shelves well-stocked with Playboy, Playgirl, and Penthouse.

Yup, the sound of freedom. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the sound of freedom over my head, but let's be honest - no one really likes the jet noise - there are those who complain about it and those who are more annoyed by those complaining about it than they are by the jets.

:D
My job is in the direct flight paths of all jets coming and going from Langley AFB. 10 at a time!! 4-5 times a day!! In addition, my house in the path of incoming flights to Williamsburg/Newport News Airport! I feel your pain!!
