Virginia Bassists

Hey VA people... I'll be visiting Charlottesville for a long weekend, and wanted to know if anyone can recommend a venue or a specific band for good live music (or other fun stuff). Nothing to wild/crazy, preferably a nicer non-dive place where I could hang out with my wife and have a couple drinks (bonus points for craft beer or local wine!) and hear some good music. Thanks for any help! :)

Living just north of C'ville, I feel like I should be able to help you more than I can.

Here's a listing of the better music venues, you'll have to check the venue links individually to see what's on the agenda on the dates you'll be in town.

I can personally vouch for "Rapture" (club scene), "The Southern" (popular club/live music scene) and "The Jefferson" (C'ville's version of The 9:30 club), but really most any location on the list will be appropriate for an evening out.

Hope you enjoy your visit. :)
