VT Deluxe Talkbass group purchase?

well at least i'll still be getting the new devo album soon! first one in 20 years..."something for everybody" it's called. i'm excited about the vt deluxe, but hey, devo's my second favorite rock band of all time!

I talked with my rep at Sweetwater today. They have received 4 of them and were suppose to get 2 more by the 17th of June. They contacted Tech21 and they stated to Sweetwater that delivery is pushed out to late July to early august. Demand is higher than what T21 expected and they need more time to manufacture new units and keep their existing products going also.

Might I ask who you spoke with here at Sweetwater? If they did arrive, I did not see them. I want to track this down. PM if you like with the person's name.

From what I can tell, (checking the inventory remotely from home), Sweetwater has yet to get the first shipment in.

For those who didn`t get the email from TPB, all it said was that the date had been pushed back to July and that they fully intend on shipping them within a day or two of receiving them (after checking to make sure they are functioning right).

Let`s hope it`s early July :(

Hey chaps

Im from the UK and id love to know what you guys think of this pedal vs the normal VT bass. Ive got a nice selection of pedals already (Aguilar Tonehammer, Sansamp BDDI) and I like them both for what they add.

Yes, they are both DIs, so I dont really need another one. Perhaps I do?!

Basically, I want the VT sound, but not sure I need to go whole hog with the Deluxe version (I know I didnt need to with the BDDI).

Let me know your thoughts when they arrive :)

OK, I e-mailed TPB, and in polite-but-firm tones, took exception to not getting the e-mail, and lauding the TB community for keeping everyone informed. Jeff Bethea called me Monday afternoon, and was most informative. TPB has been responsive, and here is the explanation to share:

Tech21 is backordered on parts needed to assmble the pedals. Demand exceeds supply, and they want the release to mean that product is readily available, and not backordered.


Jeff elaborated further, but, it has been 36 hours, and I was not taking notes, so I refuse to engage in erroneous reportage. TPB has a good rep, and, while this is my first time doing biz with them, I won't let it color a decision about doing biz with them in the future. Yes, the wait is getting frustrating, but if it means that we all get our new pedals roughly at the same time, then it's OK.
