VT Deluxe Talkbass group purchase?

I ordered the VT Deluxe from TPB with everyone else. I did not get the e-mail. For some reason I cannot even force myself to get excited about this. I have dealt with TPB before. I have purchased Tech 21 products before. I have no reason not to trust them. My ego does not require me to be the first kid on the block to get one. I figure it will get here when it gets here and I refuse to get my shorts in a wad over it.

yah... it's odd. i actually like the VT being seperate on my main board. i have 2 or 3 distortions that don't like it after them. they get all thin and nasally. so my plans for my deluxe is for my smaller PortaBoard.

does anybody know if dialing a tone in with a VT into a PBDI would be different in terms of interacting with other pedals than using just a VT Deluxinator to go for the same tone? is there some type of Diminishing Tone Returns effect if you have too many tuings in a row that use a bit of dirt or distortion?

Really? Any quotes you can share?

Hate to say it but if that`s the case I might consider asking for a refund. There`s a few other things I`d rather go ahead and put that money towards that are already out.

*edit* Just wanted to add that such a decision would have nothing to do with either TPB or Tech21. I respect both companies and know that things like this happen. It just is what it is.

Same here. I wanted to use this for my summer band who has a killer PA setup. I was hoping my rig this summer would be my bass, the VT for DI, and my floor monitor. Seeing as it won`t be out til I`m already back in school I might as well use the money elsewhere :hmm:

I'm a BDDI/Tone Hammer user and I also have a VT Bass that was modded with a DI. The VT does do things the other two can't do, and vice versa. . They're all great. Lately I have been playing around with putting the Tone Hammer and VT together. I dial in a somewhat clean but fat tone with the VT, and then engage the Tone Hammer for fuzz. It sounds REALLY nice. I'm also thinking of picking up an Agro for this. I have been on the fence about getting a VT Deluxe myself, but honestly I only have about 2 settings on the VT that are useful for me. The TH adds the fuzz when I need it, and I think the Agro would do an even better job of this. That would let me use the TH alone for other sounds that the VT Deluxe will just never do. Much more versatile on a pedal board. Of course, then you have to carry a pedal board, but I have a Pedaltrain Mini since I don't use a lot of other FX other than a Tuner and Compressor.

Im pretty much 100% on keeping the BDDI and Tone Hammer as I really like what they do, (and the TH can give me an 'active EQ' with my passive instruments should I desire it).

I guessed the VT would sound pretty different. Im quite a fan of the somewhat modern scooped aggression in the BDDI so Im going to keep it as its really helped me throughout the years.

I only use these two pedals, a TC Polytune, and a T Rex Chameleon Power Supply (as I use it for my guitar pedal power as well which includes all types of voltages incl the TC Nova Repeater). Occasionally I fiddle with the Repeater on bass.

Usually, I just take one pedal to rehearsals and play with the settings.

I might just get the standard VT Bass and have something more compact. The Agro is a very tiny pedal as well though! Hmm! Choices choices!
