buying directly you can buy for about 50% of the store price
That would be the way to do it, arrange with them that X number of us want the pedal. They buy, they ship we pay. Or if the mfr would do this. But I also think said discount, with shipping charges should be substantial enough that enough folks do it to make the minimum. If we are able to buy at wholesale, plus shipping for each pedal, why wouldn't Tech 21 or whoever, do this? One pedal per address so as not to have someone buy 30 and flip them on ebay...An alternative solution would be to approach a TB supporting vendor, say Perfect Bass for example, with a group purchase allowing a major discount. BTW I am also interested in purchasing one of these.
...Can someone give me more details into the pedal and all it's features, or link ke to where I can find more?
In the thread introducing the VT deluxe I tossed out the idea of seeing if we can put together a Talkbass group purchase - it seems as though plenty of us are plenty interested!
To do that, I think we'd need a) someone with a connection at Tech21; and b) a bunch of committed folks.
This thread, perhaps, can arrange both things.
1. If you have a contact at Tech21 and would be willing to approach them, please post and say so. Otherwise I can do a "cold call" but it sure would be easier if we had a contact.
2. If you're interested in (and willing to commit when the time comes) to being part of a group purchase - post and say so.
3. If you've arranged group purchases before, feel free to PM me - this just seemed like such an obvious idea to me that I put the idea out, but I haven't done this and would be interested in hearing "best practice" or "horror stories" that would make it go more smoothly.
I'm following up with Tech21 first. Maybe that will work out, maybe not. If not, I'll approach a TB-supportive retailer.
I'll update this thread next week, if not before.
