waiting for my fodera (daily thoughts)

Thanks, man!!

I do love them, but you need to understand what they can do...
This is my newest one, hope you like it:

That is sweet!

It's the old Anthony Jackson contrabass design, right? Did it originally come like that or did you (or a previous owner) swap the pickups and electronics out? Or is it a new bass with the classic design? I noticed that Fodera don't show the two pickup contrabasses on their website so I presume they don't offer them anymore, but I could be wrong.

Are those piezo saddles behind the bridge pickup?

Anyway, looks killer. Is it a walnut body with an ebony fretboard? That's my favourite combination.

It is the former AJ.
It came like that.
I do believe they still offer the 2 pickup configuration.
Not piezzo, that's a Fodera muting system.
I'm not sure if it's walnut, but the fretboard is ebony indeed.
Here's another pic:

to know exactly the specs, you can call fodera or email them and give them the serial number, they'll give you the year and the exact specs

Thanks, but I'm not a big fan of their customer service... And getting an e-mail reply from Fodera? Good luck...

when I called them in 2006, they said that they would send my the specs by email and they did it!

thought of the day

today, I decided to buy another fodera as soon as my imperial comes.

I decided that it will be a monarch vic wooten classic!
why buy another fodera? just because I want a great 4 string and i listened to a lot of players on youtube and their tone was to die for with these bass.

so If I receive the imperial in may, I will order the monarch in june!
another long wait is coming!!!!

Cool, if you can't wait, maybe take a look at this:

I want it brand new, i like being able to work the neck of the bass with my hand, but thanks for the info, this bass seems killer.

Moreover, I think that the dude who sells this bass wants to sell it right now, but I wanna wait 'til I receive my imperial, and i'm in france, s maybe it should be complicated to deal!

You might want to consider pups other than EMG's. Their tone tends to be a bit brittle (and sterile) for my taste. My first Monarch 4-string had EMG J/J's in and a couple of months after owning it I had the guys change them out for Seymour Duncan lateral humbucking J/J's -- WOW, it made a MAJOR difference for the better.

hey I just thought about something, if anyone delt with glenn at ABT, he told me that the bass should be ready for may 2009, but when I look on the website, it says that the bass should arrive for 08/09, so I think it means august 2009 so anyone knows which month should I trust?

another question, can anyone tell me the difference insounds of the wooten classic and the imperial bona model?

thanks to y'all!!
