I figured I should post my own pics of my recently acquired MK-III/5. Translation = I'm a pic whore. :ninja:

on a totally shallow note... the mark1 one fretless four string to my eye is the best looking bass ever .. and i have thought this sice the early eighties.

im a bit pissed off that geddy lee screwed it up and pushed the prices through the roof and out of my range ..:hiding:

I always thought of Wal as one of best looking basses, but...are there any with matching headstock? Sometimes the head looks to plain with darker bodies...

Not many, but there have been a few with headstock veneers of figured maple, sycamore, redwood, etc. that match the body facings. Also, the ones with painted or tinted finishes sometimes get matching headstocks.

I've posted some tracks on my myspace page with me playing my Wal Mark II Fretless 5. It has sycamore facings and I am using just the bridge pickup with eq flat and pick-attack engaged. There are a couple of solos where the sound is quite exposed for Wal sound listening pleasure.

Please excuse the rough nature of the tracks. They were just trial-runs of a couple of compositions and an in-studio improv based on a composed theme.

Hi all,

just wanted to show you my perfect MKII 5 pair (the red one used to be black, the six-string MKIII and the Midi4 are gone). The green one is now a lined fretless (sycamore tops) and sounds incredible. Hopefully, I'm going to get a new all-white 4string MKII in March :)
happy new year to all the fellow walnuts out there!
