I have had one replaced. My luthier did the job after it cracked. Ordered a new one from Paul and had my luthier also make a bone nut copy of the one Paul sent.

i replaced one of the nuts on one of my Wals since it had a minor crack near the G string. last time i ordered it was about £7 each. So it'll be prob be £10 including shipping. if you are going to order, it may be a good idea to make a list of spare parts you may need, coz ordering overseas is semi a pain since your already paying for shipping plus addition fees via paypal, etc. (or bank transfer fees if you go that route).....if you order enough stuff he may throw in a shirt if you pay for the added shipping.:smug:

i bought extra nuts since the probability of needing them in the future may be likely :hiding:

also the Hiscox Wal branded case is about £120....may have went up cause last time i ask was about 2 years ago i think (this would certainly get you a shirt) :ninja:

Jose,

Players that like low action set up are always adjusting down the bridge saddles and truss rod, but they forget about the nut height that it is very important for a very low action set. I like low action and my advice is :

Sand dow a little bit the nut slots also !

I bought a new case once, Since it costs nearly the same as shipping an actual bass because of the size, it came to like $450 bucks. I think my total bill was $500 once I added in a bunch of spare screws and a replacement truss rod cover.

^ yes this. I wouldn't replace a 4 string nut just because the slot is too low. The beauty of a plastic nut is you can build-up the string slots then re-file them to where you need.
A brass nut, PITA!

Okay well that sounds like an easier option anyways. That should take care of the issue I'm having. You just use regular super glue to build it up? Thanks guys. As far as the case goes...that's kind of ridiculous haha. I mean I understand it's coming from overseas and it is what it is but man that really sucks. Nearly 500$ for a case!? I will have to think about that one. Its expensive but I do reeeaally want a wal case :hmm:

You can buy the exact same non branded Hiscox case on this side of the Atlantic for something like $270, I wanted a Wal one too but that's just way too much to pay to announce to every bass thief in the club what's in the box lol.
