Gotta love these 'collection only' ads. First they only expose themselves to only a small percentage of buyers and lose out on potentially getting offered more $$ and second they practically give away a couple more $$ by asking for collection and going through evilbay to do it...why??

I noticed that Pino's Midi is an earlier version that was originally routed for the Midi-hex pickup infront of the bridge, these had a different pickup placement moved forward to make room. You can see the front pickup is touching the truss cover 'row boat', so probably sounds warmer than a typical MkII.
Mine has the pickup sensing integrated into the stock electronics, so mine has standard pickup positions.

Perhaps they don't want any more Wals shipping to the US, could this may be some sort of residual effect stemming from the Revolutionary War? I don't see why, what with tax/duty fees....

It's hard to understand ! In the past 7 months we posted in this thread about 5 or 6 UK Ebay "Collection only" Wals. No one was sold for more than U$ 3000 ! Craaaaazy ! I remember a Beatiful MKIII 4 strings that was sold for less than U$ 3000 ! Next time I think I will bid and If I win I'll buy a ticket to London, stay for 3 or 4 days and collect in person my new Wal ! Better than buy a U$ 5 . 6k MKII /MKIII US located Wal !
I saved the pictures of that MkIII 4string: it was a (nearly) new Paul built quilted maple faces with gloss finish. I think it sold for the equivalent of $3250 because it was "local sale only". I would have easily bid $5k for it!

hmmmm ! 3250 is still very cheap for a MKIII, not matter finish it has ! You should post these pics !

4K pounds is the fair price for the Pino's Wal. Before I have bought my Flamed Maple MKII (here in this thread), I 'd offered 4k pounds for the Pino's one with no success lol !

By the way, does anyone know if is possible to find these PRO II knobs for replacement ? One of them has the aluminum top cover lost.

I'm not gonna say its impossible, but it dawg gone it near it.....you might be able to get it some aluminum plating made and stamp it on some how. These knobs are special coz they go ALL THE WAY TO "11"!!!!!
OR if you just want all to match you can pull the aluminum from the other 4 knobs

Should've mentioned this my last post but I already asked Paul about a year ago and he told me he no longer has any replacements parts for the Pro's: knobs, instrument jack (+XLR), scratch plate, etc..which is why I said it could be difficult, if not, next to impossible.

Yes , I think it will be impossible to find another knob. It looks like much more a Radio Knob than a guitar Knob. The closest one I found :

I think you're spot on that these are radio knobs. Here's what Pete sent me as replacements. Clearly not original but close enough for me since they came from Wal and they go to 11.
