Wal Bass Club.

Question! why can not Wal make a good-looking smal pickgard with the logo on it ? Or at least have the same plastic material as the pickups and pickup frame ? just like the pro series? Well i got the black one so i dont won't a blank pieces of sheap plastic on my baby!
OR at least on with ebeny or the same wood as the fretboard? something that matches!
or do a need to get the template and make one by my own again!

Can I join? My 1988 fretless.....

yo!
i have try to send email to wal about a "mini" pick guard (slap) to my MK1. Im not sure if i would like to put some holes into the bass?
but i won't get any response anyhow?
anyone has the same experience?

PJ, Bass42, had his mini-slap guard put in by Paul (from Electric Wood-Wal) and also added it to some existing ones i believe....

this is the one he had made.

be patient or send another email...... it probably got lost in the shuffle of the tons of emails he gets.... another thing you can do is buy a $5 calling card and call him up directly.

They work very well and also give the bass a very unique look that I really like it. I bought some from Paul some years ago and ordered my Black MKI and MKIII with a factory installed one.

Hooking the ball in first - Is that the resolution on all of the old Wal's that have that bridge problem?

depends on the string design, some have the really thick reinforcement wrap that goes all the way back to the ball and the thickness of the quick release slot still catches the thick part of the string. I could swing the d'addario .105 over, but not a Sunbeam .105 for example.
