Just last night my Wal started giving me a weird issue where the a string has almost no output through the neck pickup. All the othe strings and The bridge pickup are fine and I tried a new bettery so I know that's not the problem. Anyone ever experience this or know what might be causing it? I'm taking it to Mike Lull on my next day off so I'm confident it will be taken care of.
Its a defective bass, let me relieve you of the burden, and take it off your hands.
Jk, might just be a tarnished pin on the neck connector. I would unplug, clean with deoxit, and try it again.
Each pin on the connectors is a string output. So of one string quits making noise, thats the probable culprit.

not much development on my build, but did get a note from Paul that he's gonna shoot me some pics of facing choices in a month or so. Might be cool to let the club help pick my top when the day comes.

Yep, had same issue. In my case, it was one of the pre-OP-AMP NPN transistors. I replaced it and I'm good. Mike Lull will find this quickly. In fact, feel free to have him check the MC549 transistors first (there's only two), and they're EASY to find replacements for. I used ON-brand.
You're going to be in heaven when you get it. I've been loving the one you sold me, dearly. I figured out some great settings and it's like every time I play it, I'm just living in the tone. Especially how the A and D strings warmly punch through a mix.

Problem solved. Looks like one of the connectors attached to the circuit board had some issues. For any Seattle Walers, Ben Bryan at American Music has worked on these basses and is very competent with working on the electronics. He did a bang up job with this one.
Well, shiz! It needs 5 screws. Jim said he lost them in the backyard somewhere. har har.
