It is paduak top Mk l.
The center dark stripe running through the middle is the heartwood, while the white body wings are the sap wood.

FS on Ebay UK. What an unsual setup on a 5 string: reverse headstock with smaller tuners only on the side with three, but original large tuners on the side with two. Sure looks like it was factory built like that. Thanks kulit, I got it from Maedros, I just got it back from a local luthier who cleaned it up a little, just buffed out the shine, I am still waiting for my '85 Wenge fretless to come back, l'll post pictures when I get it.

Damn he did a good job, that spot by the pickup is almost entirely gone and he brought back all the lustre. I gotta say, Jan was a pleasure to deal with and I feel great that my baby is in his hands. That said, damn I wish I coulda kept it lol.
