Yep. Once I got my MkIII 4, the dream had been fulfilled, but I had that order started. I really didnt want to go thru with it as I had all I want, but its not refundable.
But a few weeks ago I got the audition and joined an R&B casino band. So now I'm playing it all on 5 string because I'm comping alot of keyboard lines, and the Wal sounds killer at this. So I want a lighter version than my almost 11-1/2 lb bass for those four and five hour nights, so I had Paul change it.
It has been on sale in november 2014 and again in januari 2015. Perhaps you can get an even better deal!

Alright, so I'm seriously considering ordering another Wal Mk1 after seeing all these gloss painted photos. Anyone know if Paul has a color chart available before I bother him with questions? I have always wanted an instrument in dark green, or something like Fender's Sherwood Forest Metallic. I would even settle for a dark translucent green if that was the only option. Any clue as to what kind of up charge I might be looking at? Also, would it be strange to pair a gloss body with a satin neck?
No color chart...it's whatever colors you can dream up and come up with the $$$ for. Be prepared for it to be around £400 just for the body!

I dropped him an email about it. With a 20 month delivery window, I don't think I'll kill myself paying it off as fast as my first one. I just need to figure out how I can communicate the exact green I would want. Does anyone know if a full gloss (aka. Geddy style) has facings or does that get skipped?
i'm not sure how 'new' this is but after initial deposit, second payment is due after 4 months. you can email him picture of basses with the color you seek and he use it as reference or link him to a photo album (on flickr, photobucket, etc) of 'preferred colors'
I believe most of the opaque colored basses I've seen were over mahagony. don't think i remember seeing an opaque colored bass with maple or different timbre facing. btw it cost more to do opaque than a trans colored finish @ £480.
Yeah I knew about that, but I was a little overexcited and made a bunch of payments on it. I ended up having it paid off just about a year after I ordered. I'm still going to make installment payments like that again, but with less of a sense of urgency. Now that I have one I won't be thinking about it every day. I guess it's time for me to offload my StingRay to make room and use the funds towards buying the Wal. I've played it once since I got my Mk1 and realized I can't go back. It's good to know that I can work out the finer details of color with Paul after I make a deposit. Thanks for the information. You guys are all awesome!
