I'm lusting for your bass... I confess...Mine sure weighs like it has gold (or lead) hidden in it.
Price is outrageous! but it looks just like mine, same burr maple faces, early pickups and all, except mine's an ebony board.

correctSo let me get this right, it divorced Kulit, and now it is Caca's squeeze...
Oh I don't care, I still lust for thee...

And you mean retail value?![]()
Actually it's 118...117 and counting, members of this Wal bass club....
Most of us have one but a few here have more than a couple...
That's a lot of Wal basses!!
I just wonder what the total dollar amount is when you add them all up.![]()

It's also strange I've seen a few more Wal owners sprinkled around various threads here on TB that haven't joined this club thread. I especially want to see pics of that new blue MkII 5 string!
Is it yours? That Wal is up for sale for a long time.
Perfect reason to go for it Ian, the price is still good. I remember seeing it before I think on basschat(?).

You are right. I have been insanely busy but it is not an excuse to be absent from this cool forum.
Being a huge fan of Wal basses, I had to get me one for recording and live, adding to my Ken Smith and MTD. Well, you kinda know how the story goes...
I bought a MK1 early 2013 but also wanted to get a 5 string, so I ordered the MK2 from Paul later in 2013. Then in 2014 while waiting for my MK2, Paul completed a MK3 5 strings, which I bought (amazing bass, super comfortable and great sounding). Then the MK2 was completed early this year and I picked it up in April. Now I have another MK2 on order, to be completed sometime in 2016.
I literally stopped playing my MTD and KS, selling both of them. I use the Wal for everything. I find those basses to be the most versatile ever (some would disagree) but I get every type of sound out of it.
The MK2 has a blue finish and the zebrano top is pretty exquisite. I travel several times to Europe during the year so every time I went there was a reason for a quick layover in London to see Paul, and I was lucky to be there when he got this amazing zebrano top, which I choose for my bass. The fretboard is ebony and I had to have the block inlays...
I also had the neck matted down, which feel very comfortable...

Thanks! The wait was totally worth it!
