as a fellow motorcyclist AND bass player i know your dilemma. i always said i would never sell my motorcycle unless i give up riding altogether. it represents my dream of freedom since i was a kid. 
and since we have so many pics of basses and no pic of bikes in this thread...

You're right. Motorcycles are a dime a dozen and they depreciate. The bass is holding its value and its a long wait to get a new one. Dang you and your common sense.I second that..... unless the bike is 100x cooler than the Wal
also, which one is easier to replace?
Ah, that's what I paid too. But obviously my instrument was in need of some attention. Nevertheless, finding them so rare here in Sweden, I guess I would have had to pay quite a bit of cash for shipping and insurance if I would have bought it from an international seller.
Right now it's at the luthiers, getting some new frets and some care taking with regard to the electronics. Some hardware components may also be changed (like a few of the little screws used to adjust string height etc – they are quite worn and you can't really use a hex key for some of them anymore). I do hope things will turn out the way I expect them to.
I paid about £2500 for my Pro IE, but it is in near mint condition. Had some pot problems when I first got it, but they have disappeared with some use.
Love the look and the neck is fantastic. Heavy as a mofo, but the tone is a great bridge between vintage and modern.
It's not that Wal custom tone. I am going to be using it for a corporate gig coming up. I like that the band doesn't give me grief for it being a modern boutique coffee table bass on the R&B Motown etc stuff like if I brought a slick glossy MK-III.

My impression was that my Pro II was heavy too – at first. Pretty small body and a weighty, compact feel. However, when I took up my Musicman Sabre (-79/80) and my weirdly "customised" Fender Jazz, both of them proved to be quite heavier than the little Wal. Maybe it's good for my neck that I don't rehears too often these days...

This is the first Wal bass that was introduced in my life, and apart from his other Pro (fretless) the only one I ever played before I got my own Pro II. Nostalgia.
He's asking quite a bit of money for it. Maybe he'll be lucky – they don't come around often over here.

@Jansson it's definitely in the upper price range. Actually, that is the most i've seen asked for a Pro series Wal. Someone actually posted that ad in FB wal group.
Who knows, perhaps he might be lucky and find a buyer that's will to pay that much.....but with the couple of pics he posted - doubt it.

Well, we'll see. Everything is so expensivein this country when it comes to stuff like for example music gear, so I think we would expect to pay a bit more over here. However, it is a bit hefty, the price tag on this very instrument.
Went to the luthiers today to visit my own bass. It was taken apart and currently in the refretting process. There was talk about changing the saddle but we agreed on him trying to raise the old saddle a bit if possible.
I miss that bass guitar now, and I want it back, hehe!
What's the issue with the saddle? They do tend to bottom out, a neck shim would help if that's the problem you're having.
Yep, pretty bottomed out. A shim is what the luthier would use if he saw it work well.
Many of the Wals I've owned have been shimmed, apparently from the the factory.

They all don't get enough love as it is.....so not going to get another......unless I decide to sell the Geddy....but probably not

When you sell your Geddy, I'm going to sell my maple...to make room for your Geddy!
