Saw them last year in Seattle and was extremely bummed there wasn't a silver Mk1 on stage, but thanks to the Fractals + QSC goodies they still sounded absolutely incredible.
I've spoken to the band a few times since the reunion and the Wal seems to be a bit of a sore subject. Greg pretty much doesn't want to talk about it at all, and Ken has been downplaying its importance. In several recent interviews Ken has stated they used a PBass on the first two albums which isn't true. The only person willing to really talk about it was Kellii. He explained that they originally rented a Mk2 for Greg to use at the El Rey show. Apparently Greg hated it and they went with the PBass because of its simplicity. I get the feeling that they want to dissociate themselves from the brand. When I first brought it up, Kellii even jokingly asked me if I was one of the "where's the Wal" guys from the Internet. Even without the Wal, they kill it live and I'm excited to see them tour with Troy this month.

Thanks for that link. I've been wondering why he wasn't using it for a while now. I wonder if the current owner knows of the history of the bass.
I'm curious if the current owner had the silver duct tape removed or if Greg removed it before selling. I can't imagine the tape residue was very good for the finish.

Welcome to the Club @HaloHalo...That is a very breathtaking Mk3. I can't wait till the day when I can put my order in. The matching headstock and block in lays, as well as the facings, are just amazing. Paul is hitting 'em out of the park these days.
lol guess i was too busy eyeing the bass, that i didn't notice Angus looks like he's gonna miss looking at the bass when you take her home.
