I have been thinking about this bass a lot the past couple of days. Can't stop thinking about how good it must feel, play, and sound. Congratulations again! She's beautiful!
Hey, Wal fans...don't know if this has been covered and it probably has, but Justin Chancellor's in the new BP, and this is the bass he's pictured with:
What is that chrome trimmed circle thingy on his upper horn?
IIRC he uses this bass for Parabol/Parabola because it is tuned BEDG......Still uses his main Birdseye for all the dropped D stuff
Quick question for the experts. Any one you ever convert a Wal from lined fretless to fretted? If so, how did it turn out?
If you ever read over on basschat you find more folks who have done it.
But yes, my first Wal was a fretless and I had it converted. It turned out awesome and was a killer player. I wouldn't hesistate to do it again, because I ultimately prefer ebony fingerboards on Wals, and a conversion just make it an easy decision.

Thanks, this is helpful. I've read somewhere that the preamps in the fretless models sound a little different than the fretted counterparts (not as aggressive in comparison). How did your pre sound?
There is absolutely no difference in the preamps.
