Wal Bass Club.

So the new Geddy bass book coming out. Does anyone here have a copy on order? Seems its out in Canada aleady.
I made comment about the elusive 5 string no one has ever seen, and a TB'er responded with this:

But no one has shown a pic of it.

I have a copy on order, but I ain't seen hide nor hair of it yet... when it gets here I'll look for the elusive 5'er...

lol i was gonna try to hold that one..... wanted to check with someone that may have been looking....wanted to check first before i posted it, but too late. lol

if someone statesidd wanted to go the same route i did, add another £1575 (actually included assistance with the CITES paperwork too cause of the RW fingerboard)

make it look this(or whatever you feel like doing)

It is a very light RW and could pass for Pau Ferro easily (with seller mailing backplate separately)
BOOM..no cites

Me? I would go one step further and have the pups and electronics taken completely out and sent to Paul for service (probably due anyways) with the backplate.
Would be easy to set a low value with a gutted bass and avoid the duty/tax. Just that alone (in Canada) anyways would pay for most of the service!

Probably would end up breaking even with customs saving with the current cost of servicing preamps and shipping the preamps to and from..... But yes it would probably be most likely due for it anyways.

Sorry I don't know how CITES works, since he has the original paperwork would one still have to pay the Rosewood fee?

see @Toolmybass previous comments....since its a private sale, it might be easier to "work around it".....if you are getting it from a business (since i had Sims do the exporting), anything that contains rosewood would require a CITES certificate, but its such a PITA process.
