Mike Tobias calls home in upstate NY. Kingston to be exact. Some of the best basses made IMO.
I’m very intrigued by the tone I hear in your sample videos. I plan on an MTD 635 being my next purchase.. hopefully I can find the one that feels right.

Not to hijack the Wal page but my personal 535 was spec'd with the Bart Super pick-ups/EQ.
If you are planning on a 635, consider the same. Amazing pallet with the Single Coil/Series/Parallel toggle switches .
Mike is an encyclopedia of tone. He should be able to match what's in your head to an ideal bass. Like F Bass, way under priced for what you are getting.

Great idea! You've got a lot of albums and songs that I've never heard of. I hate spotify, but at least I know what CDs I need to order! I can think of tons that you are missing, too. I can't figure out how to add anything to your playlist, though. Either it's not set up right or I am not smart enough to know what to click!
In matter of fact, I have tried to log in with another account but was not able to upload to this playlist, while I have seen that some others have managed to do so. Maybe it depends on what kind of account you have...

It’s quite alright, Lord knows I have found my share of amazing scores the past six years. I honestly sometimes wish Wals were not as unbelievably exceptional as they are. From the moment I got my first one in late 2014, I have marveled at the craftsmanship and have often found myself spending “too much” time with them, simply because they look and feel perfect. All I can say is, God bless Pete and Ian for what they brought to the table... May their legacy endure.
Dang, that's like me in search of a five string, I can find a nice 4-string here and there but it's not really what I'm looking for (for instance, the mk1 4 string you just sold, beautiful but one string too few). Every time I find a fiver it's international and half the time they wont ship overseas (e.g. wenge Wal mk2 5-string on ebay in the UK right now). This is part of the reason I decided to just get on the list to have on made; if a 5 pops up in the 45 month wait I'll try to pick it up in the meantime and move it before mine is complete, but I figured I might as well get my name on the list while I keep looking
as most of us know, there will always be another deal in the future, but if I happen to see a Wal 6 pop up I'll definitely send the info your way 
Heads up, some of the bass tracks on Mick Karn's The Tooth Mother, Each Eye A Path, and (I think) More Different Better were played on a Klein, not a Wal. And/or layered with the Wal doubling the Klein.
Was “The Right Stuff” off Bryan Ferry Bette Noir a Wal? The credits on that album aren’t track specific, and I just figured it was Guy Pratt’s Steinberger on that one. Does anyone know better?
Looks like someone’s added a load of non-Wal tracks. For example, the Ian Dury ones and all but the first track off Eric Clapton’s August album!
