Warmoth Bass Porn...Show yours too

Correct on the fret wire, I just call it brass because it looks and feels like it and it's easier than calling it "gold colored nickel free copper alloy that's hard as stainless". It does hold it's shine very well, much more than my Warwick bass "brass" (I don't know the actual fret compound for warwick) frets.
I love the neck on your bass, is that blood wood or something else? And the control layout looks interesting as well. What do you have the strat type switch set up to do?
The neat thing about Warmoth basses is the customization that the owners put into them. Lots of neat ideas and wood selections and pup layouts and controls. Gotta love it.

No worries, just curious if you'd opted for a warwick influence on bell brass frets. It'd be a material I would probably select if available.

All Warmoth except for the body which is an old Squier P-Bass Special in British Racing Green. The pic does it no justice.

I have all the parts for a Warmoth Jazz V. It has a beautiful flame maple top on a mohogany body. I just need to find someone to do a cherry sunburst finish for me and then I will finally be able to put it together.

It's Padouk. The fingerboard is Pau Ferro.

The switch is wired as a three-way pickup selector. I had it routed by my local luthier. AFAIK, Warmoth won't do blade switch routes unless you have a Gecko body.

Neat bass...beautiful, actually. I built one with the MM p/u in the sweet spot too. Got rid of it for no good reason. I think your p/u configuration sounds better.

Thanks for the kind words. I really like the elegant look yours has with that fretless neck. Never played a fretless Stingray type pickup but I bet it sounded awesome.

Warmoth Dinky Jazz with active Barts that include switches for series/parallel/humbucker and passive/active. I've also attached a Diamond Anniversary Jazz neck - basically, this bass can do just about any sound I want.

It's me (and the Maker's) using Photoshop Mobile. It's a simple natural finish with a little flaming on the top.

BTW I forgot to mention that this baby is light - weighs in at about 8.9 lbs. I've got no problem playing the Warmoth for 4 hours... The Maker's on the other hand...

My Warmoths are real favorites for me - each truly stands out.

My first Warmoth - Black Korina P body w/blueburst quilt top, all Bird'seye J neck, EMG P/J + BTC, BAII, Schaller tuners.

Next up - Alder J stacker in shell pink, B+B maple neck, vintage NOS DiMarzio J's, pink champagne sparkle guard (just like those old Ludwigs) and all hardware is Fender AV62RI. Crappy phone pic - apologies.

I also have a Warmoth Padauk/ebony neck on a J build.

I love their stuff!

How did you get a Macassar Ebony neck? Was it a showcase piece from a while back? I've only seen a couple of them, and they were very expensive.

I got the neck a number of years ago from the Showcase as a BD present to myself. I was originally looking for graphite, then I saw these guys had all ebony. I thought it was way cooler. It acts very similarly in that the tone is a bit "compressed", but the notes come through very focused and tight. It also feels a touch more slender than their standard profile. I really like it. One day I'll do musical necks and swap them around to see what happens.

It was certainly quite expensive then - it's only gotten even more expensive now, if and when it comes around. I don't regret it at all - it's a thing of beauty and there's some beautiful chocolate figuring in the fingerboard.

Stu - that's some serious porn there. Love the top on that body, as good as any PRS figured top I've ever seen. The engraved neckplate is cool, where did you have that done and what did it cost?

I don't remember for sure where I got the neckplate. I believe it was some place on eBay and it was around $35 or 40 or so to buy the neck plate (I paid an extra $5 for a Genuine Fender neck plate) and have them engrave it with my art and send it to me. The last time I looked, I think there were quite a few sellers on eBay offering this kind of thing.
