This is literally what I want to build, but I want to make it a 5 string with a Fender neck, Im kind of a noob when it comes to bass builds, is the whole bass from Warmoth?

you should consider a warmoth neck they really make a beautiful neck and they are solid as a rock, I could play my gecko 5 with pretty low action without a nut on the truss rod, I didn't even realize it was still off until after I had the bass strung up and in tune, I wish they would rout a gecko pocket in other bodys

Hey Guys,

Here is an update of the warmoth that i have in the works.

The finish has been completed and is Satin

The pre amp is a Glocken Klang 3 band 5 knob

Pickups are rj neos and with a zebrawood cover and purple heart rings.

Will update as bass is continued

Alder in vintage white. (I had to get back into a white bass)
Gloss poly (no tint) over maple neck
Bart singles
250K all around.

I would really like to build a five string with a Status graphite neck. But the only fiver that Staus has is the same as a stingray with a 2.75" heel. Is there a way to order a jazz body that will work with it?

I posted this in the "Warmoth porn" thread, but I figured a double post would be OK.

For a while I had a bad Warmoth bug... here's what I ended up with (sorry for the iPhone photo!)

From left:

-Flame maple top with faux binding on alder, Status neck, Fralin pickups and Stellartone (I dig the bat between the pickups!)

-Canary top on black korina, fretless Status neck, Gaetano Costanzo pickups and Stellartone

-Flame maple on ash (iirc), fretless maple neck, Seymour Duncan pickup and electronics

-Black korina top on black korina, maple neck and ebony fingerboard, Fender custom shop 60's pickups and John East U-Retro preamp

-Ash body, maple neck with ebony fingerboard, Fralin pickups and John East preamp

On the 100% Warmoth basses I made sure to put the logo on the headstock: credit where credit's due

What finish did you use on the black korina Bass? Do you find that it dents easily?

I used gunstock oil, same as I did with the fretless 4 string. A couple of applications with a fine metal sponge followed by a rub with paper (the kind they used to clean presses) to remove excess.
I haven't noticed any dents, but I don't gig that bass, I only play it in my studio. Live I always use a 5 string.
I suppose it would dent easily, it's basically unprotected, but I also found the solid finishes on my basses to chip really easily and in a more visible way (I use nail polish to fix that).

Not sure but the website has all the specs. Or maybe call them but I think that info is on the website you just gotta dig around on it for an hour, but it's there.

Swapped out the neck. I think the rosewood FB matches the tort better.

I have just a tung oil finish on my Korina Wamoth Dinky P.. 14 years without anything else on it. Doing very well

Have just ordered my first Warmoth body, and the electronics to go in it. Just need to order a neck. The 8 - 10 week wait for the body to be made is going to be a killer though, but looking forward to joining this club when it's all done.

Here is the the final thing. The pickups are awesome. The base has a variety of tones that can be dialed into.
